ISLAMABAD, Jan 9 (APP): A ‘Free Kashmir’ poster was waved during a protest in Delhi University against the violent attack on students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in the Indian capital.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the students of St Stephens College of Delhi University boycotted their classes and took part in the massive protest to show their solidarity to the JNU students. As pictures of the protest surfaced, a student was seen holding a “Kashmir Aazad” poster. The students also chanted Azaadi (freedom) slogans, Kashmir Media Service reported.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 9 (APP): Pakistan on Thursday expressed its readiness to contribute towards peace in the region, saying it would welcome any move by the United States and Iran to deescalate the current tense situation.

“Any attempt by the concerned parties to diffuse tension and restore peace in the region will be welcomed by Pakistan,” Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqi said at a weekly press briefing.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani army said, the country will remain neutral, in the current conflict between the United States and Iran, after a U.S. airstrike killed an Iranian commander in Iraq.

Pakistan’s military spokesman, Major General Asif Ghafoor said, Pakistan will not become part of any action that undermines regional stability.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 06 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that magnificent ceremony at Kartarpur to mark birth anniversary of tenth Guru Gobind Singh of Sikh faith had
negated Indian propaganda.

In a tweet, the SAPM said that hundreds of Sikh Yatress attended the event, which was manifestation of the fact that Pakistan was a peaceful country where minorities enjoyed complete freedom to perform their
religious rites.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (APP): Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor Sunday said Pakistan would play the role of a peacemaker and not take sides in the ongoing conflict between the United States and its neighbour Iran.

“Pakistan has defeated and eliminated terrorism on its territory and would not allow its soil to be used against any other country,” he said talking to private news channels.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 5 (APP):Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday said that the condemnable incident took place in Nankana city was against his vision which would be dealt with zero tolerance by the government including police and judiciary.

“The major difference between the condemnable Nankana incident and the ongoing attacks across India on Muslims and other minorities is this: the former is against my vision and will find zero tolerance and protection from the government including police and judiciary,” the prime minister remarked in a tweet.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 4 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday said brutality of the Indian police reached new lows as its pogrom of Muslims in India continued as part of fascist Modi government’s ethnic cleansing agenda.

The prime minister said this in his comment while retweeting a news story of an Indian television channel reporting that the Indian police had even enlisted the dead and bed ridden people among those who could hamper peace as protests continued against the new citizenship law.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan’s government on Friday introduced legislation to extend the tenure of the army chief in line with a Supreme Court order that it must justify its wish to see the top commander stay on in the job for an extra three years.

The government of Prime Minister Imran Khan approved an extension for General Qamar Javed Bajwa in August, citing a worsening national security situation in the region over its rivalry with India.

ISLAMABAD, Jan 2 (APP): As the curfew in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK) enters 151 days, Pakistan on Thursday reiterated its call to the Indian government to remove military and communication blackout and allow media and human rights observers there to see the situation.

“Today is the 151st day of the humanitarian nightmare in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It is characterized by continued military lockdown and a complete communication block out,” Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said in her maiden weekly press briefing here after assuming the office.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) has facilitated some 294,156 Pakistanis to precede Saudi Arabia this year for prospective job opportunities in various sectors.

According to the data shared by the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) here on Monday, manpower export to Saudi Arabia registered a marked growth of 191 per cent in 2019 as compared to the last year when only 100,910 Pakistanis went there.
