ISLAMABAD, June 7 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday held a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Boris Johnson of the United Kingdom and exchanged views on current trajectory of bilateral relations, Afghan peace process, Covid-19 Pandemic and climate change.

He thanked Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his thoughtful video message for the World Environment Day event held in Islamabad on 5 June 2021.

MULTAN, Pakistan (AP) — Two express trains collided in southern Pakistan early on Monday, killing at least 35 passengers, authorities said, as rescuers and villagers worked to pull injured people and more bodies from the wreckage.

Between 15 to 20 passengers are still trapped in the wreckage of the Millat Express train and authorities were trying to arrange heavy machinery to rescue those people who are crying for help, said Umar Tufail, a police chief in Ghotki district in Sindh province, where the collision occurred before dawn.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 6 (APP): EU Ambassador to Pakistan Androulla Kaminara has said the European Union continued to support Pakistan in its efforts to strengthen good governance in the country.

To materialize the concept of good governance, the EU would fund a parliamentary project for capacity building of Pakistan’s legislators, she added.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Dr Faisal Sultan on Saturday said that the national COVID-19 positivity ratio continued to fall steadily and the average stands at less than 4%.

“I’m pleased to share that the 3rd wave has gone down steadily”, Dr Faisal said while sharing updates on disease spread, vaccination and fake news in a video statement.

(Reuters) --- Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that Pakistan is ready to restart talks with arch-rival India if Delhi provides a roadmap towards restoring the previous status of the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.

The two nuclear-armed neighbours both control parts of Kashmir but claim it in full. In 2019, India withdrew Indian-ruled Kashmir's autonomy in order to tighten its grip over the territory, sparking outrage in Pakistan, the downgrading of diplomatic ties and asuspension of bilateral trade.

ISLAMABAD, May 31 (APP): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar Monday said the government had decided to run massive COVID vaccination drive across the country to achieve the target of providing 70 million vaccines to the people.

The lockdown is no more the solution of containing COVID-19, as the vaccination has become the only way to do away with the pandemic,” Asad Umar said while briefing media after attending the meeting of National Coordination Committee (NCC) here.

ISLAMABAD, May 29 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Saturday visited a National Command Authority nuclear facility of the Strategic Forces Command wherein he expressed “full confidence” in Pakistan’s nuclear capability and protection to strengthen the national defence.

On his arrival, he was received by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza and Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Nadeem Zaki Manj.

During the visit, the prime minister was apprised of various facets of Pakistan’s Strategic Program.

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that the special economic zones (SEZs) under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will promote industrialization of his country and uplift its economy.

Addressing the commercial launching ceremony of the Rashakai SEZ under the CPEC in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Khan said that the Rashakai and other SEZs will help increase Pakistan's exports, which will eventually facilitate wealth creation.
