India: Touts warned to stay out of OPD at Hallet Hospital

Kanpur: Information about the presence of private medical store brokers and Medical Representatives near OPD at Hallett Hospital was received on Friday.

Principal of Medical College Prof. Sanjay Kala and Campus Incharge Dr Ganesh Shankar conducted a surprise inspection.

As many as 7 touts of the private medical stores were found to be present. They were driven out. The Medical Representatives present in the OPD were also taken out of the OPD.

While instructing them, the officers said that if seen here next time, strict action would be taken.

India: Inter-city Express loco pilot dies of heart attack on duty

Kanpur:  A loco pilot dies of a heart attack at Qasimpur Halt on Friday morning. He was reportedly on duty. He was posted at Head Quarters Partapgarh.

He left with assistant Yogesh Kumar in Inter city Express 14123 from Pratapgarh to Kanpur.

He stepped down the engine after chain pulling at Qasimpur halt to fix the pressure pipe which was reportedly burst during the chain pulling.

Suddenly he felt unsteady and fell down the track. Immediately 108 ambulance took him to Community Health Centre, Fursatganj.

India: Chakeri airport director transferred, 3 officers suspended due to delay in terminal work

Kanpur: Three senior officers were suspended and the director of the Chakeri airport transferred recently.

The delay in the completion of work on the new civil terminal building has caused this action, officials said.

The Divisional Commissioner Raj Sekhar has now fixed a deadline of 15 August this year, officials said.

The construction work of the new airport terminal building at the civil side of the Air Force-controlled Chakeri Airport here is an important project of the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government.

India: One dies by intake of dry pasta in breakfast at Kanpur's Haniya village

Kanpur: A stir erupts here when the condition of two real brothers began to be deteriorated after eating macaroni.

One brother is reported to have died, while the condition of the elder brother remains critical. There was chaos in the village.

There was a pall of gloom pervading over the bereaved family. The names of the brothers are Mohit and Rohit.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and sent the body for a post-mortem.

The incident occurred at the Haniya village of Maharajpur police station area.

India: A distinct individuality of Satish Mahana sighted in Kanpur

Kanpur: The State Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana could not keep himself away from the delicious taste of bread and butter after performing Yoga at the Green Park here on Tuesday.

Thousands of Yoga lovers performed the excise at the Green Park, the news said.

Following his exit from the stadium, he stepped near a roadside handcart.

Along with him, the party's MLC Salil Bishnoi was also seen on the spot.

He not only enjoyed eating bread but put the butter on the bread with his hands.

India: Irregular drizzling gives some comfort to Jajmauites

Kanpur: Though sunny weather continued much of the time in the day, there was a drizzling at about 3.15 p.m. in Jajmau here.

It was a sudden shift in the weather that recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. 

The dry caraway got drenched and Window  AC sets were also dripping.

As the unstable shower disappeared in a few minutes, the smell of atmospheric air quickly altered into that of the rainy season.

The clouds got dispersed within no time. The scorching sun once again began to throw its unbearable heat. 

India: Abduction drama developed to extract money from parents

Kanpur: A college student from Kanpur staged his own kidnapping after losing money for his fees in an online game.

The first-year BSc student, named Shivshankar, also demanded a ransom of Rs 1 lakh from his family.

Student's family informed the police, which found him within 24 hours.

This incident took place in the Mangalpur Jaitipur village of Kanpur where Shivshankar's parents gave him Rs 30,000 to pay coaching fee and buy books.

But he lost the money on online gaming and later staged his own abduction to extract money from the family members.

India: Mentally upset elder man keeps family captive in Kanpur

Kanpur: A heart-wrenching incident came to light in Shyam Nagar of the Chakeri police station area on Sunday evening. An elderly man with mental psychosis took his family hostage and nibbled the police for hours.

After hours of effort, the police finally overpowered him and arrested him.

Locals and family members say that the mental balance of the elderly was not good. Treatment was going on. The incident happened because of not taking medicine on Sunday, as was allegedly reported.

India: BJP party of liars; Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, Jun 19 (PTI) Samajwadi Party (SP) National president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday alleged that all BJP leaders including the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister begin and end their talk with a lie.

Yadav's statement came after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed a rally in Azamgarh, where he alleged that Yadav betrayed people of Azamgarh and obstructed its development and supported criminals.

India: Power supply still remains demanding in Kanpur city

Kanpur: On one side there is hotter weather and on another hand there remains counts of break down and faults.

Despite repairs to the feeder and the felling of tree twigs laden with leaves, the power supply does not remain free from unexpected disruption in the city areas.

The consumption has certainly been increasing in view of the scorching sun, respite does not appear from break down.
