Principal of Medical College Prof. Sanjay Kala and Campus Incharge Dr Ganesh Shankar conducted a surprise inspection.

As many as 7 touts of the private medical stores were found to be present. They were driven out. The Medical Representatives present in the OPD were also taken out of the OPD.

While instructing them, the officers said that if seen here next time, strict action would be taken.

Apart from this, the doctors attending the OPD were also asked not to prescribe medicines from outer stores.

The complaint about the brokers around the OPD of Hallet hospital was reaching the principal.

Noticing the uproar outside the OPD and emergency, there was a feeling of panic among the patients and their relatives.

To prevent this, on Friday, the campus in charge and guards of the medical college raided the OPD together.

As soon as the raid was detected, about half a dozen brokers present there ran away. Earlier four touts had been caught but they were released after warning.

Why did the inspection... Actually, by luring the patients coming to the OPD to get medicines with full discount in their shop, these brokers and Mrs send them to their respective shops after seeing the patient's pamphlets.

Due to this, the medicines which patients can get from the hospital for free or at low prices, the patients were compelled to buy the medicines at expensive rates from private medical stores.
