Pakistan to resume commercial flights to Afghanistan's Kabul on Monday

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to resume commercial flights to Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, starting from Sept. 13, the airline said on Saturday.

"The official flag carrier of Pakistan (PIA) is going to start again its flight operations for Kabul," Arshad Malik, chief executive officer of the PIA, told Xinhua, adding that the first flight will leave for Kabul on Monday from Pakistani capital of Islamabad.

Pakistan, Qatar press for release of frozen Afghan assets

India: Magistrate not competent authority to extend time to complete investigation in UAPA cases: SC

New Delhi, Sep 10 (PTI) A magistrate would not be the competent authority for extension of time to complete investigation in cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Supreme Court has said.

A bench headed by Justice U U Lalit said the only competent authority to consider such request would be the Special Courts set up under National Investigation Agency Act.

India: Kerala dowry death: Vismaya committed suicide due to harassment

Kollam, Sep 10 (PTI) Kerala police on Friday submitted the charge sheet in the Vismaya case in which an Ayurveda medical student was found dead in her husband's house under mysterious circumstances after she had complained of dowry harassment.

Kollam Rural SP KB Ravi, who arrived at the local court to submit the charge sheet, told the media that the case had shocked the conscience of the state.

India: RBI further restricts PCB Kanpur for three months

Kanpur: The Reserve Bank of India has extended curbs on People's Co-operative Bank Limited, Kanpur, for three months from September 11 to December 10, this year.The bank has been under restrictions since June 10, 2020, through the directives issued under Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 (AACS), said the news.

Earlier in the day, BSP supremo Mayawati said her party will make efforts to not field 'bahubali' (strongmen) or mafia candidates in the upcoming polls and announced that Ansari, who is lodged in a jail in Banda, will not be given a ticket from Mau again.

India: Woman raped, brutally assaulted in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 10 (PTI) A 34-year-old woman was raped and brutally assaulted inside a stationary tempo in suburban Sakinaka and her condition was said to be serious, police said on Friday.

Mohan Chouhan (45), the accused, was arrested within a few hours of the incident, said an official.

The police control room received a call in the early hours of Friday that a man was thrashing a woman on Khairani Road, he said.

India: PM Modi to launch Sansad TV on September 15

New Delhi, Sep 10 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to launch Sansad TV, a new channel formed by merging the Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV, on September 15, sources said on Friday.

According to them, veteran Congress leader Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and advocate Hemant Batra will host different shows on this new channel.
