ISLAMABAD, Sep 12 (APP): Pakistan on Sunday shared with the world another dossier comprising incriminating audio, video and documentary evidence on gross human rights violations, war crimes, genocide and torture against the Kashmiris by the “fascist Modi regime” in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Heavy Downpour Causes 12 Deaths In NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 12 (NNN-APP) – Twelve people were killed and two others injured, due to heavy downpour in Mansehra district of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, today, local media reported.

Four to five houses were torn down to the ground, due to land slide caused by heavy downpour, the reports said.

There were 16 people in the houses and search for the remaining two has been underway, according to media.

The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Pilot error likely caused fatal Air India Express crash - report

MUMBAI, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Pilot error and a failure to follow safety guidelines probably caused the Air India Express crash that killed 21 people last year, the country's worst aviation accident in a decade, investigators said in a report on Saturday.

The Boeing 737, repatriating Indians stranded in Dubai due to the coronavirus pandemic, overshot the table-top runway and crashed while landing at Calicut International Airport in the southern state of Kerala in heavy rain on Aug. 8, 2020.

Afghanistan: Taliban say women can study at university but classes must be segregated

Sept 12 (Reuters) - Women in Afghanistan will be allowed to study in universities as the country seeks to rebuild after decades of war but gender-segregation and Islamic dress code will be mandatory, the Taliban's new Higher Education minister said on Sunday.

The minister, Abdul Baqi Haqqani, said the new Taliban government, named last week, would "start building the country on what exists today" and did not want to turn the clock back 20 years to when the movement was last in power.

India: Failing in alleged rape bid woman thrown out of moving car

Kanpur: A man and his friends allegedly attempted to rape a woman inside a moving car and threw her out when she resisted.

Reportedly, the accused was miffed as the woman had opposed his advances. The incident took place in the Chakeri area of Kanpur on Friday night.

The woman told the cops that the accused assaulted her and even tried to strangle her when she resisted the ravishment bid. The accused fled after pushing the woman on the highway.

India: UP Govt to provide one lakh tablets to skilled workers

Kanpur: The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to provide one lakh tablets to the skilled workers of the State for free under its Skill Development Mission.

The move will help skilled workers hone their skills further to do better in their jobs, said the UP government.

The Yogi government said it is providing a wide range of services to the people at large on the one hand and the skilled people on the other through web portal sewamitra.up.gov.in, app and call centre 155330.

It is hereby informed that the skilled workers can apply for a job through the portal.

India: Man sentenced to life imprisonment for raping minor girl in Himachal

Hamirpur, Sep 11 (PTI) A special POCSO court has sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping a seven-year-old girl.

Special judge POCSO court Praveen Kumar Sonkar on Friday announced the verdict and imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the convict, Gayadeen Prajapati, manager of a private school.

District government advocate Rudra Pratap Singh said Prajapati raped the girl on February 28, 2019 when she had gone to attend a coaching class.

India: Gurudwara Pharmacy provides medicines at cheap prices

Kanpur: A pharmacy at a Gurudwara in Kanpur has been providing the needy with medicines at affordable rates.

The Ratanlal Nagar Gurudwara Committee has initiated this noble deed for the people.

The medicines are being sold at a 'no profit - no loss' policy. The cost of the medicines is same as of its wholesale price. 

All  types of general use medicines are presently available here, it has been informed.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Atul Kumar laid emphasis on the need to make medicines affordable to all amid the ongoing pandemic.

India: Guj CM Rupani made scapegoat: Congress, AAP

Ahmedabad, Sep 11 (PTI) Opposition Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday claimed that Vijay Rupani, who resigned as Gujarat chief minister earlier in the day, paid the price for the BJP's failures.

The saffron party can not cover up the failure of its "remote-controlled" government by simply changing the chief minister, the Congress said.

India: Priyanka holds marathon meetings with UP Cong leaders

Lucknow, Sep 11 (PTI) Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday held marathon meetings with party office-bearers here and said their views will be crucial in the distribution of tickets for next year's Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Exhorting partymen to work round the clock for the polls, Gandhi said a strong Congress organisation is equally important for nation building.

The party also told prospective candidates to submit applications by September 26, a party leader said.
