DAMASCUS, Jan 27 (NNN-SANA) – Pro-government fighters found a mass grave with nine bodies, in Syria’s eastern province of Deir al-Zour yesterday, a war monitor reported.

The nine bodies belong to the Daesh militants, who were killed during battles with the Syrian government forces years ago, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In Oct, 2020, a Syrian tribe uncovered a mass grave with bodies of 26 people killed by the Daesh militants in Deir al-Zour, in 2014.

19 Jan 2021; MEMO: Head of the Russia-Syria Joint Monitoring Centre Dmitry Suntsov announced on Monday the deployment of additional Russian military units to northeastern Syria.

Suntsov confirmed that an additional Russian military police unit had been deployed to the city of Hasaka in northeastern Syria to strengthen the joint observation posts with the Syrian regime forces, and to contribute to calming the conflict in the region.

16 Jan 2021; MEMO: Iranian forces and militias in Syrian have been redeployed to areas that have recently come under Israeli airstrikes, Kuwaiti Al-Mujtama magazine reported on Friday.

The magazine disclosed that the redeployment took place in the cities of Deir Ez-Zor, Bokamal, and Al-Mayadeen, noting that the militias evacuated their bases outside the cities and went to residential areas, attempting to avoid further Israeli strikes.

DAMASCUS, Jan 12 (NNN-SANA) — The curve of recorded infections with the Coronavirus is witnessing a relatively stable indication, but it is not considered as exceeding the peak of disease since last November, according to Director of Ambulance and Emergency Department at the Syrian Health Ministry, Dr. Tawfiq Hasaba.

Dr. Hassaba told SANA that the number of suspected cases admitted to the public hospitals “is still large,” adding that the numbers announced are cases proven by the PCR test.

DAMASCUS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- More than 130 airstrikes have targeted the positions of the Islamic State (IS) in the Syrian desert over the past 48 hours, a war monitor reported on Saturday.

The intensified airstrikes were carried out by Russian warplanes against the positions of the IS militants in the Syrian desert in eastern Syria as the latter attacked and captured several Syrian military sites, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The UK-based watchdog group said the IS militants later withdrew from the sites they had advanced to, fearing the airstrikes.

08 Jan 2021; MEMO: Israeli occupation warplanes have struck sites where the militias of the Bashar Al-Assad regime and Iran are stationed, south of the capital of Damascus and near the governorate of As-Suwayda, south of Syria.

Local sources reported that an airstrike launched by Israel using missiles last night targeted the Radar Brigade in As-Suwayda, causing damage to equipment, however, no casualties were reported.

DAMASCUS, Jan 7 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian air defences responded to an Israeli missile attack, on the south of the capital, Damascus, last night.

The sounds of Syrian anti-air weapons were heard in Damascus, the report said.

A military source said, the Israeli attack was carried out from over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights and targeted some military sites in south Damascus.

It added that, the Syrian air defences intercepted most of the Israeli missiles.

The Israeli attack is the latest to target military sites in Syria.

DAMASCUS, Jan 4 (NNN-SANA) – Turkish forces and allied rebels yesterday renewed shelling on a Kurdish-controlled town in northern Syria, in a bid to advance in that strategic area, a war monitor reported.

The shelling targeted the town of Ayn Issa in the northern province of Raqqa, as the Turkey-backed rebels attempted to advance on the western outskirts of the area said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Turkey-backed rebels fought intense battles with the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), amid heavy Turkish shelling in Ayn Issa, north of Raqqa.
