China’s Wang Yi Meets Pakistani Foreign Minister, Vowing To Maintain Regional Stability

ISLAMABAD, Sept 8 (NNN-XINHUA) – Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, here on Saturday, met with Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Wang, during the meeting, told Qureshi that China-Pakistan relations will further be strengthened in spite of the complex and changing regional and international situation.

People defy curfew, hold anti-India demos in IOK

ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP): In occupied Kashmir, hundreds of people defying curfew and other restrictions held demonstrations in central, north and south Kashmir on Friday against the Indian occupation and repeal of special status of the territory by Narendra Modi-led communal Indian government.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), soon after Juma congregational prayers, people flouting curfew and other restrictions took to the streets in Srinagar, Sopore, Hajin, Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian and other areas of the occupied territory.

Qureshi urges EU to speak out for upholding fundamental rights in IoK

ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a telephonic conversation with EU Special Representative for Human Rights Eamon Gilmore and discussed the growing scale and gravity of the human rights violations in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the past five weeks.

The foreign minister noted that India’s illegal and unilateral actions not only contravened international law, they had caused human suffering, shrunk democratic space and clamped down on fundamental rights and freedoms, said a Foreign Office statement issued Friday night.

Pakistan denies Indian president's request to use its airspace for foreign visits

Islamabad, Sep 7 (PTI) Pakistan has refused a request by India to allow President Ram Nath Kovind to use its airspace for his flight to Iceland, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Saturday.

Kovind will embark on a visit to Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia from Monday during which he is expected to brief the top leadership in those countries on India's "national concerns", especially in view of terror incidents this year, including the Pulwama attack.

President lauds Iraq’s principled position on Indian HR abuses in IOJ&K

ISLAMABAD, Sept 6 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi on Friday said Pakistan appreciated the principled position of Iraq on human rights violations in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K) and expected its consistent support at all international fora for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The president in this regard appreciated the recent visit by the head of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, Shaikh Hammoudi, to Kashmir in July 2019.

Pakistan, India hold third round of talks on Kartarpur Corridor

LAHORE, Sep 4 (APP): The third round of talks between Pakistan and India on Kartarpur Corridor was held at Attari on Wednesday to discuss and finalize draft agreement on opening of the Corridor.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr Muhammad Faisal accompanied by other officials from various departments.

Later, briefing the media, Dr Muhammad Faisal said the environment of the meeting between the two countries remained good despite tension over Kashmir and the meeting only focused on the Kartarpur corridor.

Pakistan to exercise all possible options to counter illegal steps of Modi govt in IOK: Shah Mehmood

ISLAMABAD, Sep 4 (APP): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Wednesday said that Pakistan would exercise all possible options to counter the illegal steps taken by India and will continue to apprise the civilized world about Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and sufferings of its people.

Talking to private news channel, he said that Pakistan has undertaken a diplomatic surge in the wake of India’s unilateral actions and security lock down in occupied Kashmir.

India 'sowing seeds of war' with Kashmir actions - Pakistan military spokesman

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan’s military spokesman said on Wednesday that India’s actions in disputed Kashmir were endangering regional peace, after New Delhi revoked the autonomy of Indian Kashmir last month.

“The situation in Kashmir has become a big danger in the region...the Indian action in Kashmir is sowing seeds of war,” said Major General Asif Ghafoor, chief spokesman for Pakistan’s armed forces in a televised press conference.

“We do not want to take the conflict to that point where the regional and world peace is endangered,” he added.
