Russia ready to supply as much gas to EU as needed

POTSDAM, November 7. /TASS/. Russia is ready to deliver to European nations as much gas as customers will require, Deputy CEO of the Russian gas holding Gazprom Alexander Medvedev said on Wednesday.

The gas demand will grow over years, the top manager said. "We in Russia are to supply as much gas to Europe as Europe needs," Medvedev said. At the same time, Russia "does not intend to take 100%" of extra exports, he added.

Russian diplomat blasts US State Department for spreading ‘fake news’

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The US Department of State is churning out fake news against Russia on an industrial scale while US President Donald Trump is fighting bogus news stories in the American media, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"While the US president is fighting fake news on CNN, he apparently does not notice in the heat of the struggle that his subordinates in his administration just continue to generate them, these bogus stories are already on an industrial level now," the Russian diplomat said.

Range of Russian drones’ electronic jamming capability increased to 100 km

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Radio-electronic warfare systems installed on drones being provided for the Russian armed forces are capable of jamming the enemy’s communication systems within a range of 100 kilometers. Over the past six years the range of electronic jamming means has been increased 3.5 times, the Russian Defense Ministry’s daily Krasnaya Zvezda said on Tuesday.

Russia plans to create long-term base on moon

MOSCOW, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Russia plans to create a long-term base on the surface of the moon as part of its lunar program and study the satellite with the help of robot avatars, Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin said Tuesday.

"This is about creating a long-term base, naturally, not habitable, but visited. But basically, it is the transition to robotic systems, to avatars that will solve tasks on the moon surface," the Sputnik news agency quoted Rogozin as saying.

Russia's fighter jet intercepts U.S. aircraft over Black Sea

MOSCOW, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- A Russian Su-27 fighter jet has intercepted a U.S. Navy EP-3E Aries plane over the Black Sea near Russian airspace and escorted it away in a safe manner, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy announced that a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft was intercepted earlier on the day by a Russian fighter jet while flying in international airspace over the Black Sea.

Russian envoy voices support for Iran amid return of U.S. sanctions

TEHRAN, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy Alexander Lavrentiev arrived in the capital Tehran on Monday to express Russia's support for Iran as the U.S. fresh sanctions against the Islamic republic take effect.

In a meeting with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani here on Monday, Lavrentiev said that he has traveled to Tehran to "voice Moscow's unequivocal support for Iran against the fresh round of U.S. sanctions," according to Tasnim news agency.

Serbian filmmaker and musician Emir Kusturica to perform in Moscow on the Unity Day

MOSCOW, November 4. /TASS/. Serbian filmmaker and musician Emir Kusturica and his rock band the No Smoking Orchestra will perform at the Moscow International House of Music on Sunday, the Moscow Show concert agency’s press service of reported.

On Sunday, Russia celebrates the Unity Day, one of the youngest national holidays.

The show will mark the release of the band’s new record "Corps Diplomatique" and the 20 anniversary of Kusturica’s film "Black Cat, White Cat."
