NAM A Driving Force Of Multilateral Cooperation — Azerbaijan Foreign Minister

BAKU, (AZERBAIJAN), Oct 25 (NNN-Bernama) — Multilateralism is more important than ever, and it is the responsibility of the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) to protect this asset, said Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Mammadyarov said NAM, as the second-largest international political organisation after the United Nations, is definitely one of the main driving forces of multilateral cooperation.

18th Non-Aligned Movement Summit Opens In Azerbaijan

BAKU, Oct 25 (NNN-Bernama) — The 18th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit opened Friday in this capital city of Azerbaijan, gathering the leaders of more than 120 member countries at a time when the world faces new challenges including a trade war.

At this summit, Azerbaijan, helmed by President Ilham Aliyev, takes over the chairmanship of NAM for the next three years from Venezuela.

Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is among more than 20 top leaders attending the two-day summit being held at the Baku Congress Centre.

NAM senior officials begin meeting in Baku

BAKU (AZERBAIJAN), Oct 22 (Bernama) — Senior Officials from the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) began their two-day meeting here on Monday, deliberating on current developments in the international sphere and issues related to NAM member countries.

The Preparatory Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) and the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting on October 23-24 will preced the 18th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the NAM that will be held here on Oct 25-26.

China's migratory bird sanctuaries added to UNESCO World Heritage List

BAKU, July 5 (Xinhua) -- China's Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the coast of the Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf (Phase I) were inscribed on the World Heritage List as a natural site on Friday at the ongoing 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee in Azerbaijan's capital here.

The decision to inscribe the Chinese natural site on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) World Heritage List was unanimously supported by all members of the World Heritage Committee.

Iraq, Kazakhstan and Nigeria may join OPEC+ Monitoring Committee

BAKU, March 18 / TASS /. OPEC + has invited Iraq, Kazakhstan and Nigeria to join the monitoring committee, said the Saudi Arabian Minister of Energy Khaled al-Faleh, before the start of the meeting of the ministerial monitoring committee on Monday.

"We invited Iraq, Kazakhstan and Nigeria," he said.
