French city cancels conference of Palestinian activist Hamouri

31 Jan 2023; MEMO: The Mayor of the French city of Lyon, Gregory Doucet, yesterday cancelled a conference hosting French-Palestinian lawyer Salah Hamouri, to "ensure harmony" in the city.

The conference entitled "Thirty years after the signing of the Oslo Accords, a look at Palestine" was due to take place at Lyon's City Hall tomorrow.

Tunisia: ex-president calls for dismissal of Saied and restoration of democracy

31 Jan 2023; MEMO: Former Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki has renewed his call for the dismissal of incumbent President Kais Saied and the restoration of the democratic process.

"Any politician with a drop of honour would resign after yet another low voter turnout in a legislative election," said Marzouki on Twitter. "The mission of the people in all their groups is to accelerate the end of this ridiculous tragedy, to dismiss this man and to restore the democratic process."

Israeli media warn of 3rd Palestinian intifada amid tension

An Israeli newspaper warned Saturday of the outbreak of a third Palestinian intifada amid spiraling violence in the occupied territories, reports Anadolu Agency.

29 Jan 2023; MEMO: On Friday, seven Israeli settlers were killed in a shooting attack near a synagogue in a Jewish settlement in occupied East Jerusalem.

The attack came a day after nine Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli military operation in the occupied West Bank town of Jenin.

Canada: Mass graves of indigenous children is sign of genocide

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has referred to reports about the fresh discovery of mass graves of indigenous children in Canada as a “big human tragedy” that can only be described as “genocide”.

“The restricted flow of information about the discovery of these mass graves indicates the depth of the human tragedy and is reminiscent of the crimes committed during the oppressive and racist white rule under the British control on this country,” said Kanaani.  

Israeli settler violence comes to Europe through virtual reality

Israel settlers attack Armenian restaurant in Jerusalem

28 Jan 2023; MEMO: Israeli settlers on Thursday evening attacked an Armenian restaurant near the New Gate in the Christian Quarter of the occupied city of Jerusalem, local sources told Wafa News Agency.

The radical settlers attacked a group of diners, mostly Armenians, who were enjoying their meals at the Taboon Wine Bar.

Israel settlers attack Palestinian farmers in Masafer Yatta

28 Jan 2023; MEMO: Extremist Israeli Jewish settlers on Friday attacked Palestinian farmers working on their land in Masafer Yatta in the South Hebron Hills, local Palestinian activist Foad La'mour said.

According to La'mour, the Israeli Jewish settlers prevented the Palestinian farmers from working on their farms and forced them out of the whole area.
