Jammu, Nov 12 (PTI) Kashmiri migrant employees on Friday held a protest here seeking time from the administration to rejoin their duties in the Valley, saying they are facing a threat to their lives.
However, Relief Commissioner A K Pandita said it has become a habit of the employees to flee the valley whenever there is any untoward incident.
Lalitpur (UP), Nov 13 (PTI) A special court here has sentenced a 35-year-old man to death for killing his three daughters three years ago and also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Assistant government counsel Rakesh Tiwari on Saturday said Special Judge Nirbhay Prakash sentenced Chhidami alias Chhiddu to death in connection with the murder of his daughters Anjani (11), Raddo (7) and Putto (4) at their residence in Veer village under Banpur police station limits on the night of November 13, 2018.
New Delhi, Nov 13 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with a delegation of US lawmakers on Saturday, during which he appreciated the consistent support and constructive role of the US Congress in deepening the India-US comprehensive global strategic partnership anchored in shared democratic values.
In a statement, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said the US congressional delegation was led by Senator John Cornyn and included senators Michael Crapo, Thomas Tuberville and Michael Lee, and Congress members Tony Gonzales and John Kevin Elizey.
Imphal, Nov 13 (PTI) The Commanding Officer of an Assam Rifles battalion, some of his family members, and peronnel of the paramilitary force were killed in an ambush in Manipur on Saturday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said.
The incident occurred in Churachandpur district close to the Myanmar border.
No militant organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- A total of 15 people were injured as a bomb blast ripped through a mosque in Spin Ghar district of the eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, a local official said.
The official, on condition of anonymity, said that the blast took place inside a mosque in Tarili village of Spin Ghar district at 01:30 p.m. local time when the mosque was full of worshippers.
Among the injured, three were in critical condition.

Bhopal, Nov 12 (PTI) The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh is contemplating banning in the state, senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid's book in which he has compared Hindutva to radical groups like ISIS and Boko Haram, after taking legal opinion on the matter, said Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday.
The minister also hit out at Khurshid over the book on the Ayodhya verdict, titled 'Sunrise Over Ayodhya: Nationhood in Our Times', which was released on Wednesday.

Only the repealing of the contentious laws would ensure the end of the protests, the influential farmer leader asserted.
