President Erdogan shares concerns over situation in IoK; assures support

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday shared his concerns on the developing situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK) and assured of Turkey’s steadfast support in this regard.

The prime minister, as part of outreach to the world leaders on the recent developments in Indian Occupied Kashmir, phoned the Turkish president and discussed the situation in IoK, PM office media wing in a press release said.

Changing IHK special status defiance of UNSC resolution: experts

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP): Experts and analysts on Monday termed quashing of special status of Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) was a blatant violation of the international law and United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

Talking to APP, analysts urged the government to move the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and take other steps as India had violated its own constitution, the UNSC resolutions and the international law by quashing the special status of held Kashmir.

PAK: Firdous urges political leadership to take unanimous stand to expose Indian state terrorism in IOK

ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that political leadership of the country should take a unanimous stand to expose Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.

In a tweet, she said that this was not time of politics, rather it was time to stand united like a rock on the issue of national security and Kashmiris’ right to self- determination.

She urged political leadership to give a message of unity and consensus on national issue by rising above political interests.

PAKISTAN: PM condemns Indian LoC violations; urges UNSC to take notice

ISLAMABAD, Aug 4 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday condemned India’s attack on the innocent civilians across the Line of Control (LoC) and its use of cluster munitions in violation of international humanitarian law.

The prime minister urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take note of this international threat to peace and security.

In a series of tweets, the prime minister said India was also committing violation of its own commitments under the 1983 Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.

Pakistan urges US to "persuade" India to start talks on Kashmir

Islamabad, Aug 2 (PTI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday urged the US to use its "influence" to "persuade" India to start talks on the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.

Qureshi's remarks came after US President Donald Trump said Kashmir was a bilateral matter between India and Pakistan but he would be happy to mediate if they want him to do so.

The Foreign Minister said India was avoiding the talks and did not appear willing to negotiate on the matter.

Pak to grant consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav by Friday: Foreign Office

Islamabad, Aug 1 (PTI) Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is on death row in Pakistan, will be granted consular access by Friday, Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal said on Thursday.

Jadhav, 49, a retired Indian Navy officer, was sentenced to death by a Pakistani military court on charges of "espionage and terrorism" in April 2017 following which India had moved the International Court of Justice (ICJ), seeking a stay on his death sentence and further remedies.

Pakistan, Saudi Arabia reiterate resolve for stronger bilateral partnership

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1 (APP): Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Thursday, while reaffirming the closeness of the bilateral fraternal ties, reiterated their shared resolve to forge a stronger partnership, covering all aspects of the bilateral relations.

The bilateral ties were discussed as Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on Wednesday evening. The prime minister offered his sincere condolences on the sad demise of the crown prince’s uncle Prince Bandar Bin Abdul Aziz al Saud, a PM Office statement said.

PM satisfied on US visit; acknowledges President Trump’s vision on regional peace, bilateral ties

Pakistan lodges protest with India over unprovoked firing

ISLAMABAD, Jul 31 (APP): Director General South Asia and SAARC Dr Mohammad Faisal on Wednesday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and condemned the ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces including unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC).

The DG SA & SAARC urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement, investigate incidents of ceasefire violations and instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit to maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.

Pakistan Army plane crashes in Pindi, 17 killed

Islamabad, Jul 30 (PTI) At least 17 people, including two pilots and three military personnel, were killed and 12 others injured when a Pakistan Army aviation aircraft on a routine training flight crashed in a residential area in the garrison city of Rawalpindi early on Tuesday.

The plane crashed in the suburbs of Mora Kalu village, killing 12 civilians and five crew members and destroying five to six houses, the Pakistan Army said.
