Pakistan PM Imran vows to protect worship places of minorities, say forced conversions is 'un-Islamic';

Islamabad, Jul 29 (PTI) Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday termed the practice of forced conversions as "un-Islamic" and said there was no precedent in Islamic history for forcefully converting others, according to media reports.

Addressing an event in connection with National Minorities Day at the Aiwan-e-Sadr (President's House) in Islamabad, Khan also vowed to protect and develop worship places of minorities in Pakistan and also facilitate them to the maximum level to perform them religious rituals.

Pak-Turkish navies hold bilateral exercise

ISLAMABAD, Jul 28 (APP): Pakistan Navy’s Special Service Group (SSG Navy) and Turkish Navy’s Special Forces, ‘Su Alti Taarruz’ (SAT) concluded a bilateral ‘EXERCISE AYYILDIZ-2019’ in Karachi.

It was the 12th exercise in AYYILDIZ series, which continued for 12 days. This series of bilateral exercise has been regularly conducted between Pakistan and Turkey on annual basis, a press release issued here by Directorate of Public Relations (Navy) said.

Pakistan on tipping point of socioeconomic development: President

ISLAMABAD, Jul 28 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi Sunday said that Pakistan was on tipping point of socioeconomic development and it was high time for all the citizens played their role to uplift country’s poor by providing them education, health and other opportunities equally.

Addressing a National Conference themed ‘Invest in Eliminating Hepatitis from Pakistan’ in connection with the World Hepatitis Day annually observed on July 28, the president said the prevalence of hepatitis B and C in 15 to 20 million people of Pakistan was alarming.

US approves $125 mln technical support program for Pakistan’s F-16s fleet

ISLAMABAD, Jul 27 (APP): The US State Department announced an approval of $125 million for Pakistan to provide technical support to its fleet of F-16 aircraft.

“The State Department has made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to Pakistan for Technical Security Team (TST) in continued support of the F-16 program for an estimated cost of $125 million,” said a statement by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency(DSCA) of the United States issued on Friday.

U.S. working closely with Pakistan on recovery of hostages: State Department

ISLAMABAD, Jul 26 (APP): The United States is working closely with Pakistan on recovery of American hostages, U.S State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus has said.

“We are, of course, working closely with the Pakistanis on recovering them,” the State Department spokesperson said at a press briefing held Thursday in Washington D.C., when sought update on the ‘good news about U.S hostages’ shared by Prime Minister Imran Khan with President Donald Trump in their recent meeting.

Pak-US relations ‘reset’ sans ‘doing more’ talk at PM-Trump recent meeting: FO

ISLAMABAD, Jul 25 (APP): The Foreign Office on Thursday said relations between Pakistan and the United States had now been “reset” and there was no talk about ‘doing more’ during the recent meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Trump in Washington.

“Nothing happened such as the US asking Pakistan to ‘do more’. Instead, the talks focused on the interests of each side,” the Foreign Office Spokesman said at a weekly press briefing.

PAKISTAN: President for strong Pak-Morocco bilateral relations

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP): President Dr. Arif Alvi on Wednesday said Pakistan attached great importance to its brotherly ties with Morocco and was willing to further enhance bilateral cooperation at all levels.

Pak wants meaningful dialogue with India on Kashmir issue: Spokesperson

ISLAMABAD, Jul 24 (APP): Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal Wednesday invited the Indian government to hold a peaceful dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Talking to private news channel, Faisal said that Pakistan has consistently been raising Kashmir dispute at all the international forums to highlight the plight of oppressed Kashmiri people.

Largest Transportation Infrastructure In Pakistan Completed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, July 24 (NNN-PPI) – Construction of the 392-km Sukkur-Multan Motorway, under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has been completed, after the National Highway Authority (NHA) presented a substantial completion certification to the constructor, China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC).
