INDIA'S EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MINISTER SWARAJ ARRIVES IN NEW YORK FOR UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION

NEW YORK, Sept 23 (NNN-PTI) -- External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has arrived here to represent India at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly and hold several bilateral and multilateral meetings with her global counterparts.  

She will address the General Debate in the morning of September 29.  

INDIA: HONOUR KILLING-TWO ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING MAN IN UTTAR PRADESH STATE

MUZAFFARNAGAR, Uttar Pradesh state, Indiar, Sept 23 (NNN-PTI) -- Two men have been arrested for allegedly murdering their brother-in-law, a government official, in a case of honour killing, police said Sunday.  

The brothers-in-law, Adesh and Vishal, were arrested for killing Manoj Sharma who worked as a data entry operator in the office of the Comptroller Auditor General, SSP Sudhir Kumar said.  

Three accused in the case were on the run, the official said.  

Pak PM Imran hits out at India, calls its response "arrogant" for cancelling talks

Islamabad, Sep 22 (PTI) India's decision to cancel the foreign minister-level meeting in New York was "arrogant", Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said Saturday, asserting that he was "disappointed" by the New Delhi's "negative" response.

Modi, Ambani carried out Rs 1.3 lakh cr 'surgical strike' on defence forces: Rahul on Rafale issue

New Delhi, Sep 22 (PTI) Upping the ante over the Rafale issue, Congress president Rahul Gandhi Saturday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Anil Ambani jointly carried out a Rs 130,000 crore "surgical strike" on the defence forces.

His renewed attack on Modi came a day after a French media report quoted former French president Francois Hollande as purportedly saying that the Indian government proposed Ambani's Reliance Defence as the partner for Dassault Aviation in the Rs 58,000 crore Rafale jet fighter deal and France did not have a choice.

Chanced fogging in newly inhabited area!

KANPUR: The fogging has never been done in this newly inhabited Cantonment area. Being a locality surrounded with tanneries the menace of mosquitoes prevails throughout the year. It was a chanced experience by the residents on one sunny afternoon that they saw a fogging machine in the locality. It was actually a fluky fogging in the locality close to the main VIP road.

Arun Jaitly calls Rahul Gandhi ‘clown prince’

Responding to Congress allegations about Rafale deal and NPA, Arun Jaitly said that Rahul Gandhi’s statements are incorrect, and he is a ‘clown prince’.

Jaitly inserted a detailed note on his facebook to refute allegations made by Rahul Gandhi about corruption in Rafale deal and Modi’s waving of loans of 15 businessmen.

You can’t limit public discourse by hugging and winking, said Jaitly.

Delhi Asst Com of Police booked for raping woman, molesting minor

Ramesh Dahiya, an Assistant Comissioner of Polce in Delhi, has been booked for alleged rape of a woman and molesting her daughter.

According to The Indian Express, “woman had alleged that she came in contact with Dahiya when he was posted as Station House Officer (SHO)”.

Woman alleged that Dahiya raped her. She also alleged that he molested her minor daughter when she was not at home.

In a rally in Rajasthan’s Dungarpur, Rahul Gandhi coined a new slogan: Gali gali me shor hai - Hindustan ka chowkidar chor hai.

Gandhi's visit to Rajasthan followed a roadshow in Madhya Pradesh. This is his second visit to the state since his roadshow in Jaipur on August 11.

Pakistan renews offer for dialogue with India

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan; 20 Sep 2018; AA: Pakistan on Thursday renewed its offer for dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues.

According to the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Imran Khan sent a letter to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi seeking a resumption of talks between the two nuclear powers.

Khan responded to a letter written by Modi in late August to congratulate Khan on his election as premier of Pakistan.

New hope for millions of Afghan refugees in Pakistan?

18 Sep 2018; DW: On Sunday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a plan to offer citizenship to Afghan and Bangladeshi refugees who were born in Pakistan.

Khan told local media that Pakistan would will give passports and IDs to Afghans whose children have been raised in Pakistan and who were born there.

"We will also give them citizenship," said Khan.
