13 Aug 2021; MEMO: The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Asad Khan, announced on Thursday that a memorandum of understanding has been signed with Sudan for the extradition of wanted persons to The Hague, most notably ousted President Omar Al-Bashir. Khan made the announcement at the conclusion of a visit to Khartoum that was extended for several days.

The ICC official pointed out that the agreement signed with Sudan by the court's former prosecutor only included Ali Kushayb, who is being tried before the court.

KHARTOUM, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The Sudanese government and International Criminal Court (ICC) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on provision of information and realization of justice for the victims of the conflict in Sudan's Darfur region.

Sudan's Justice Minister Nasredeen Abdelbari signed the deal with ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan.

"The MoU helps in providing the requested information and continuing work with the victims, the survivors and the civil society," said Khan at a press conference in Khartoum.

KHARTOUM, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Sudan recalled its ambassador to neighbouring Ethiopia on Sunday, frustrated by the stance of Ethiopian officials whom it said were refusing Sudan's offer to mediate in the ongoing conflict in Tigray.

"Ethiopia will improve its position if it considered what Sudan could do. ..instead of completely rejecting all of its efforts," a statement from the foreign ministry read.

WAD EL HILU, Sudan (AP) — From time to time, a body floating down the river separating Ethiopia’s troubled Tigray region from Sudan was a silent reminder of a war conducted in the shadows. But in recent days, the corpses became a flow.

Bloated, drained of color from their journey, the bodies were often mutilated: genitals severed, eyes gouged, a missing limb. The Sudanese fishermen who spotted them, and the refugees from Tigray who helped pull them to shore, found many corpses’ hands bound. Some of them had been shot.

04 Aug 2021; MEMO: The Sudanese cabinet yesterday approved a draft law on the country's accession to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

"Today, in our weekly Cabinet meeting, we have unanimously passed a bill to join the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court," Prime Minister, Abdalla Hamdok, said on Facebook.

He pointed out that a meeting between the sovereignty council and the cabinet would be held "to pass that bill into law."

29 July 2021; MEMO: The judge hearing the case against ousted Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir asked to be removed from the trial on Tuesday.

Judge Ahmed Ali Ahmed asked to be excused from pursuing the case and adjourned the hearing to 10 August until the issuance of a decision regarding his request.

16 July 2021; MEMO: The Paris Club of official creditors has agreed to cancel $14 billion owed by Sudan and restructure the rest of the more than $23 billion it owes, Paris Club Chairman Emmanuel Moulin said today Reuters reported.

A deal was reached yesterday with Moulin urging Sudan's other private and public creditors to grant the country debt relief on the same terms.
