NABLUS, Mar 20 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian man was killed yesterday, when the Israeli army used live and rubber bullets, to disperse a weekly protest against settlements, in the northern West Bank.

Clashes erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers, in the town of Beit Dajan in the eastern Nablus province, after the forces fired live and rubber bullets, as well as, tear gas canisters at them.

An Anadolu Agency correspondent said, the man was hit in the face.

19 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israel has received a letter from the International Criminal Court (ICC) giving details of the scope of its war crimes investigation against the occupation state and Hamas, Channel 13 reported on Wednesday. The letter apparently arrived last weekend.

According to the news channel, the National Security Council has already met to begin formulating Israel's response. The government has 30 days in which to do this.

18 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israel's government announced on Wednesday a long-awaited bailout of its airlines to help them weather the coronavirus crisis and maintain operations in the midst of a year-long halt to international travel, reported Reuters.

As part of a financial assistance program overseen by the finance ministry, the government will buy $210 million-worth of flight tickets in advance from flag carrier El Al Israel Airlines and its low fare subsidiary Sun Dor.

18 Mar 2021; MEMO: More than 100 Palestinian homes face demolition and about 1,550 residents, including more than 800 children, will be made homeless at the hands of Israel's Jerusalem Municipality, Arab48 reported yesterday.

This comes as the Israeli municipality cancelled all agreements with the Palestinian residents of the Silwan neighbourhood.

17 Mar 2021; MEMO: A field researcher for Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has been interrogated and warned by the Shin Bet internal security service that he is "making trouble and threatening the army". According to Haaretz, Nasser Nawaj'ah was detained at a military checkpoint between Sussya and Yatta last week while on his way to visit his wife's grandfather, who was hospitalised.

16 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday that Emirati Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has "volunteered" to invest over $12 million in Israel.

In an interview with the Israeli army radio, Netanyahu said Abu Dhabi's crown prince told him that he "wants to be a partner in projects which could enhance Israel's economy after the coronavirus [pandemic]."

15 Mar 2021; MEMO: Israeli security officials have recently recommended that Tel Aviv should tone down maritime tension with Iran, RT reported Hebrew media saying yesterday.

According to the Israeli news website Walla, Israeli security officials said they recommend this as the new US administration is still laying down its policies.

15 Mar 2021; MEMO: Former Likud member and chief of the New Hope Party in Israel, Gideon Sa'ar, has accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of leading the country into a "civil war", Hebrew media reported yesterday.

His remarks came after members of his former party, which Netanyahu heads, attacked a New Hope Party member during an event. The activist, according to the Times of Israel, fainted and was evacuated by an ambulance.

JERUSALEM, March 14 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Israel this month will hold its fourth election in under two years, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hoping goodwill from a world-beating coronavirus vaccination campaign can finally secure him an elusive majority government.

When Israelis last went to the polls a year ago, they delivered a result that had become familiar: neither the right-wing Netanyahu nor his centrist challenger Benny Gantz had enough support to form the necessary 61-seat parliamentary majority.

The world, and Israeli politics, have been upended since then.
