Ukraine’s Zelensky says wants meaningful result from meeting with Putin

KIEV, December 6. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is scheduled to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Normandy Four summit in Paris on December 9, Zelensky confirmed in a televised interview on the Ukraine channel on Friday.

"Yes, all the presidents will have bilateral meetings," he said when asked if the Russian and Ukrainian presidents would hold bilateral talks.

Ukraine lawmaker says he met Giuliani to discuss misuse of US taxpayer money in Ukraine

KIEV (Reuters) - An independent Ukrainian lawmaker said on Thursday he had met U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer in Kiev to discuss the alleged misuse of U.S. taxpayer money by Ukrainian state bodies.

In a statement on Facebook accompanied by photos of the meeting, Andriy Derkach said the two had discussed the creation of an interparliamentary group to fight corruption.

Ukrainian president, EC president discuss prospect of cooperation

KIEV, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with the newly appointed President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen to discuss cooperation, the Ukrainian presidential press service said Tuesday.

Zelensky congratulated von der Leyen on her new role and wished her success.

"I hope that the European Union's support of reforms and protection of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty will only continue during your presidency," Zelensky said.

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine has unwittingly become embroiled in a political battle in Washington between U.S. President Donald Trump and congressional Democrats who could announce formal impeachment charges against him within weeks.

Kiev forces violate ceasefire one time in Lugansk republic in 24 hours, militias say

LUGANSK, November 30. /TASS/: Ukraine’s forces violated ceasefire one time over the past 24 hours, opening fire at the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, the LPR’s mission to the Joint Ceasefire Control and Coordination Center said.

"The shelling targeted an area in the village of Logvinovo," the LuganskInformCenter reported, citing the militias. According to the report, the Kiev forces opened fire from anti-tank grenade launcher.

Gas price in Ukraine will be $500 per 1,000 cubic meters if transit is halted - Minister

KIEV, November 30. /TASS/: The gas price for Ukrainians may increase to 12,000 hryvnias (about $500) per 1,000 cubic meters in the event of the termination of transit from Russia from January 1, 2020, Minister of Energy and Environment of Ukraine Alexey Orzhel said on Friday.

"The price of 12,000 hryvnia is possible in the absence of transit," he said speaking on the national television.

U.S. provides 43 mln USD in military aid to Ukraine over past 3 months

KIEV, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine has received 43 million U.S. dollars in military assistance from the United States since September in the form of services or ammunition, not funds, the Ukrainian Armed Forces told local media on Friday.

"Communications equipment, cybersecurity means, night vision, medical equipment, various spare parts for received technical equipment worth 43 million U.S. dollars were received from the United States in accordance with previous arrangements from September to November 2019," said a statement from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Zelensky calls relations with Russia ‘very challenging’

KIEV, November 26. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has described Ukrainian-Russian relations as very complicated.

"We have a very challenging situation with Russia," Zelensky told reporters at a joint briefing with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid in Tallinn. "We have launched dialogue [with Russia]," the Ukrainian president said. "Truly speaking, it will begin at the Normandy meeting of the four leaders (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France)."
