Nagpur, Apr 2 (PTI) Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for insulting late Hindutva ideologue VD Savarkar and claimed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru once "apologised" to get released from jail.

Pakistan’s Inflation Jumped To 35.4 Percent In Mar

ISLAMABAD, Apr 2 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s inflation, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), increased to 35.4 percent in Mar, as compared to the same month a year ago, official statistics showed, yesterday.

In Mar, 2022, inflation was recorded at 12.7 percent, Muhammad Mazhar, an official from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), said.

On a month-on-month basis, the CPI increased 3.7 percent in Mar, as compared to an increase of 4.3 percent in Feb, according to the PBS.

Roof Collapse Killed Four In Pakistan’s Balochistan

ISLAMABAD, Apr 2 (NNN-APP) – Four people were killed, when the roof of a house collapsed, in Chaman district of Pakistan’s south-western Balochistan province, police said, yesterday.

The incident took place early yesterday morning, in Chaman’s Bypass Road area, killing four members of a family, including children, police officials in the area told local media.

Afghan forces discover weapon cache in Nimroz province

ZARANJ, Afghanistan, April 2 (Xinhua) -- The security forces have discovered a weapon cache in Afghanistan's western Nimroz province, the General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI), or the country's counter-intelligence agency, said in a statement on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, the GDI personnel launched operations in parts of Nimroz province on Saturday and discovered a weapon cache containing a variety of arms and ammunition, including a Kalashnikov and 15 pistols, the statement added.

The statement didn't say if anyone had been arrested.

Sri Lanka establishes committee to oversee utilization of IMF funds

COLOMBO, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe has established a committee to oversee Sri Lanka's utilization of the credit facility provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), state media reported on Sunday.

The committee includes Sagala Ratnayaka, chief of staff to the president, Treasury Secretary Mahinda Siriwardana, Central Bank Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe, and a group of experts, according to the Sunday Observer.

Border trade between Pakistan & China to resume next week after 3 years

Islamabad, Apr 1 (PTI) After a three-year hiatus, Pakistan and China are set to resume trade from Monday through the Khunjerab Pass - the only land route between the two all-weather allies, a media report said on Saturday.

The Khunjerab Pass was closed in November 2019 to contain the transmission of the COVID-19 virus between the two countries.

India's export of military hardware reaches all-time high of Rs 15,920 cr in FY 2022-23

New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) India's export of military hardware reached an all-time high of Rs 15,920 crore in the financial year 2022-2023 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi describing it as a clear manifestation of enthusiasm towards 'Make in India' initiative.

The value of total defence exports in 2022-23 is a ten-fold increase compared to the amount of Rs 1,521 crore recorded in exporting military hardware in 2016-17.
