02 July 2022; Tehran (ISNA) - Reacting to the final communiqué of the G7 summit in Germany, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said, “We strongly condemn the parts of the final statement of the G7 leaders that are against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

TEHRAN, July 2 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and another 49 injured as three earthquakes measuring above magnitude 6 shook Iran's southern Hormuzgan province early on Saturday, the Fars news agency quoted an emergency official as saying.

The first 6.1-magnitude quake occurred at a depth of 10 km at 2:02 a.m. local time (2132 GMT Friday), followed by two strong quakes of up to 6.3 magnitude a few hours later. Many aftershocks with a magnitude of above four have also been registered.

TEHRAN, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Thursday that the Caspian Sea littoral states refused to allow any foreign presence in the region.

Raisi made the remarks upon arrival at the airport in Tehran from his visit to Turkmenistan, in which he took part in the sixth summit of the heads of state of the Caspian countries, according to the Iranian presidency's website.

The Caspian Sea's resources must be protected, he said, adding that the sea belongs to the regional countries and must be managed collectively by the littoral states.

29 June 2022; MEMO: Indirect talks between Iran and the US to revive the 2015 nuclear deal ended in the Qatari capital, Doha, without a result, Iran's semi-official Tasnim News reported.

Tasnim, citing sources, said the talks mediated by the EU ended, for now, blaming the cessation of the talks on the US insistence on restoring the 2015 accord without giving guarantees of "economic benefits" to Iran, Anadolu News Agency reports.

DUBAI/LONDON, June 28 (Reuters) - Iran, which holds the world's second largest gas reserves, has applied to join the BRICS group of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa that Beijing and Moscow cast as a powerful emerging market alternative to the West.

The term BRIC was coined by Goldman Sachs economist Jim O’Neill in 2001 to describe the startling rise of Brazil, Russia, India and China. The BRIC powers had their first summit in 2009 in Russia. South Africa joined in 2010.

27 June 2022; MEMO: Iran yesterday launched a solid-fuel rocket capable of carrying a satellite into orbit, a day after Tehran and the European Union agreed to resume talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

It was not clear when the rocket was launched,  but the announcement came after satellite images showed preparations at Imam Khomeini Spaceport in Iran's rural Semnan province.

27 June 2022; MEMO: A major Iranian steel company has been forced to shut down production after it was hit by a cyber attack, in what is the latest of a series of attacks on Iranian sites in recent months.

According to Iranian media, the state-owned Khuzestan Steel Company said that experts had determined that its steel plant halt production until further notice "due to technical problems".
