Iran spins more centrifuges on US Embassy crisis anniversary

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran on Monday broke further away from its collapsing 2015 nuclear deal with world powers by announcing it’s doubling the number of advanced centrifuges it operates, calling the decision a direct result of President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the agreement.

India: Kudankulam nuke plant says cyber attack 'impossible'

Kudankulam (TN), Oct 29 (PTI): The Kudankulam nuclear power plant (KKNPP) on Tuesday allayed fears of a cyber attack on its systems and said such attacks were not possible.

KKNPP training superintendent and information officer R Ramdoss said the reports in the social media about cyber attacks were false and clarified that KKNPP and the other nuclear power plants' control systems were 'standalone' and not connected to any cyber networks outside or the internet.

ASEAN Information Ministers Pledge To Build Smart Connectivity

VIENTIANE, Laos, Oct 26 (NNN-KPL) – The 19th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers Meeting (TELMIN) and related meetings were held here on Thursday and Friday.

According to the joint media statement issued by ASEAN on Friday, the meeting, talking over smart connectivity for ASEAN digital transformation, agreed to further intensify cooperation to propel ASEAN towards a digitally-enabled economy that is secure, sustainable, and transformative; and to build an innovative, inclusive and integrated ASEAN.

Birzeit University engineering students in top 100 worldwide

NASA finds no trace of India's Vikram lander on moon surface

Washington, Oct 23; PTI/GANASHAKTI: NASA has found no evidence of Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander in the latest images captured by its Moon orbiter of the lunar south pole region where India's ambitious mission attempted a historic soft landing, the US space agency said on Wednesday.

On September 7, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) attempted a soft landing of Vikram on the uncharted lunar south pole, before losing communication with the lander.

Huawei launches foldable phone in China

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Huawei Technologies Co Ltd launched its foldable 5G Mate X smartphone on Wednesday, starting pre-sales for the device in China on the same day.

Huawei announced the smartphone’s launch on its official Weibo account.

The much-touted foldable 5G Mate X was originally set for a June launch but Huawei later delayed the launch, saying that it was running certification tests with various carriers.

Huawei has sold more than 200 million phones in 2019, 64 days earlier than in 2018, it said, citing He Gang, head of Huawei’s mobile phone division.

UAE Announces Establishment Of World’s First AI University

DUBAI, Oct 17 (NNN-WAM) – The first graduate-level and research-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) university in the world, was established on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The university is named after Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE’s Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Bangladesh’s Largest Digital Device Expo Kicks Off In Dhaka

NASA launches satellite to explore where air meets space

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — NASA launched a satellite on Thursday night to explore the mysterious, dynamic region where air meets space.

The satellite — called Icon, short for Ionospheric Connection Explorer — rocketed into orbit following a two-year delay. It was dropped from a plane flying over the Atlantic off the Florida coast.

Five seconds after the satellite’s release, the attached Pegasus rocket ignited, sending Icon on its way.
