Iran will cooperate in plane crash investigation despite leaked recording — authorities

TEHRAN, February 4. /TASS/: Tehran will continue cooperating with other countries in the investigation of the Ukrainian plane crash despite the fact that a recording of talks between Iranian dispatchers had been leaked, Iran Civil Aviation Organization said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Iran says to support Jerusalem as capital of Palestine

TEHRAN, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that the Islamic republic will continue to support the Palestinian cause, Press TV reported on Wednesday.

"Iran will defend the Palestinians' rights to determine their fate and to form a Palestinian government with al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital," Zarif made the remark during a telephone conversation with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

He denounced the U.S. President Donald Trump's so-called peace plan for the Middle East region, saying that "such plots were doomed to failure."

EU, Iran vow to enhance cooperation, interaction to settle issues

TEHRAN, Feb 5 (NNN-Xinhua) — The visiting EU representative and Iranian senior officials have expressed their readiness to boost cooperation in the matters of the Iranian nuclear program, regional security and others.

Josep Borrell, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, announced that the European states will do their utmost to protect the Iranian 2015 landmark nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Iran may block UN inspectors if it faces a ‘new situation’

ML--Iran-Nuclear (AP) — Iran’s president said Monday that Tehran might reconsider providing U.N. inspectors with access to Iran’s nuclear facilities if the country were confronted with “a new situation,” the official IRNA news agency reported.

Hassan Rouhani’s remarks came during a meeting with Josep Borrell, the European Union’s new foreign affairs chief, who was on his first visit to Iran since taking office.

Iran Obstructed By Saudi Arabia From Attending Meeting On U.S. Peace Plan: Ministry

TEHRAN, Feb 3 (NNN-TASNIM) – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, said that, Saudi Arabia obstructed an Iranian delegation, from attending the upcoming Jeddah meeting on the U.S. peace proposal for the Middle East.

Despite invitation by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the secretariat of which is located in Jeddah, Saudi officials refrained from issuing visas for Iranian delegation to attend the meeting, to discuss the U.S. plan, Abbas Mousavi, said.

Bill on Iran’s withdrawal from nonproliferation treaty sent to parliament’s commission

TEHRAN, February 1. /TASS/: A bill on Iran’s quitting the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons was submitted to the parliament’s commission on national security and foreign policy on Saturday, ISNA news agency said.

The bill was signed by 19 lawmakers. Provided that the commission approves it, it could be put to voting at Majles, the Iranian parliament.

Iran, Ukraine Jointly Decipher Black Box Of Crashed Ukrainian Plane

TEHRAN, Feb 2 (NNN-IRNA) – Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, said that, Iran and Ukraine are jointly investigating the black box of the downed Ukrainian plane in Iran.

The aircraft accident investigating board of Iranian and Ukrainian experts, is investigating the black box according to standards of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Eslami was quoted as saying.

“If the examination team cannot decipher the data, another decision will be made,” he added.

Iran starts 10-day celebrations for anniversary of victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution

TEHRAN, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Saturday started 10-day Fajr (Dawn) celebrations for the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The first day of the celebrations on Feb. 1 marks the return of Sayyid Ruhollah Khomeini, the late leader of the Islamic Revolution, to Iran from exile.

Earlier in the day, the incumbent supreme leader of Iran Ali Khamenei, in the company of the senior Iranian civil and military officials, paid tribute to Khomeini's mausoleum in the suburbs of the capital Tehran, the state TV reported.

Iranian factory makes U.S. and Israeli flags to burn

KHOMEIN, Iran (Reuters) - Business is booming at Iran’s largest flag factory which makes U.S., British and Israeli flags for Iranian protesters to burn.

At the factory in the town of Khomein, southwest of the capital Tehran, young men and women print the flags by hand then hang them up to dry. The factory produces about 2,000 U.S. and Israeli flags a month in its busiest periods, and more than 1.5 million square feet of flags a year.
