Pakistan: COAS meets KSA’s Deputy Minister of Defence Prince Khalid

RIYADH, Aug 18 (APP): Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met Deputy Minister of Defence Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Matters of mutual interest including bilateral defence, security cooperation and regional security were discussed, said Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.
The COAS was on his official visit to KSA.

Saudi Arabia-Hosted Meeting Stresses Importance To Maintain Sudan’s Stability

RIYADH, Aug 13 (NNN-SPA) – A declaration of the eighth meeting of the Friends of Sudan, stressed yesterday the importance and full support to the stability of Sudan.

Hosted by Saudi Arabia, the online meeting aimed to promote peace and prosperity of Sudan.

The declaration reaffirmed full political support for Sudan’s civilian-led transition, from a group of governments and multilateral organisations, known as Friends of Sudan.

It also reiterated support for the transitional government led by Sudanese Prime Minister, Abdalla Hamdok.

Saudi officials detained on corruption charges

12 Aug 2020; MEMO: Saudi authorities announced on Monday the arrest of Saudi citizens including a member of the Shura Council, a former judge, a notary, and a number of retired officers, as a result of their alleged involvement in several corruption cases.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted an official in the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority as saying that “the authority has lately initiated (218) criminal cases.”

Saudi Arabia's Aramco raises domestic petrol prices

12 Aug 2020; MEMO: Saudi giant, Aramco,  has raised its domestic gasoline prices for August, state TV reported yesterday.

In July, the state-owned company increased the price of the 91 octane gasoline grade from 1.29  ($0.34) to 1.43 riyals ($0.38) per litre and the price of the 95 octane grade from 1.44 riyals ($0.38) to 1.60 riyals ($0.43) per litre.

Saudi Arabia ends loan and oil supply to Pakistan over its criticism of OIC on Kashmir

Saudi Aramco’s profits drop by 73.4% in Q2

10 Aug 2020; MEMO: Saudi Arabia’s oil giant, Aramco, yesterday said its net profits for the second quarter of this year had dropped by 73.4 per cent, resulting from a global decline in crude oil prices.

The state-owned company said in a statement that its profits had declined by 50 per cent in the first quarter of the year, to $23.2 billion compared to $46.9 billion during the previous year.

Saudi Aramco Distributes 18.75-Billion-USD Dividend For Q2, Despite COVID-19 Challenges

RIYADH, Aug 10 (NNN-SPA) – The Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco), announced yesterday, the dividend distribution of 18.75 billion U.S. dollars to shareholders, for the second quarter of 2020.

This dividend, up from 13.4 billion dollars for the same period of 2019, is paid, despite global economic disruption and challenges facing the energy sector, said a company statement.
