ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan fired off a sharp warning Sunday to Afghanistan’s hard-line religious rulers to stop sheltering homegrown Pakistani Taliban militants who have staged increasingly deadly attacks against the country’s military.

The warning followed Afghan reports that Pakistani aircraft late Friday carried out bombing raids in Afghanistan’s eastern Khost and Kunar provinces, killing civilians.

ISLAMABAD, April 16 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud Saturday agreed to work together to further augment and diversify their bilateral ties in all spheres, in particular trade, investment and employment generation opportunities.

ISLAMABAD, April 14 (Reuters) - Pakistan's powerful military on Thursday dismissed ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan's accusation that the United States had conspired to topple him in a parliamentary vote of confidence.

Khan, 69, who led the nuclear-armed South Asian country of 220 million people for 3-1/2 years, accused Washington of backing his ouster because he had visited Moscow against U.S. advice. Washington denies the charge.

Khan met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Feb. 24, the day Russian forces invaded neighbouring Ukraine.

ISLAMABAD, April 13 (APP): Pakistan’s Embassy in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday reminded members of the Pakistani community that holding of processions and protests in UAE were illegal.

“Anyone breaking the laws is bound to face serious legal consequences. Therefore, the community members are advised to strictly abide by the local laws,” a press release of the Embassy in Abu Dhabi said.

The information was issued after reports about holding of protests by the supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf in UAE.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 13 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s new government attaches great importance to strengthening relations between Pakistan and China, Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif said here yesterday.

Shahbaz, who was elected as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan on Monday, and took the oath on the same day, made the remarks during a meeting with Pang Chunxue, charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, at the Prime Minister House, in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 11 (APP): Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In a tweet on social media platform Twitter, Modi said, “Congratulations to H. E. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror, so that we can focus on our development challenges and ensure the well-being and prosperity of our people.”

Islamabad, Apr 11 (PTI) Deposed Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to return from London next month after Eid, a senior PML-N leader has said, amid a whirlwind of political developments that have embroiled the country following Imran Khan's ignominious ouster from power.

Mian Javed Latif said a decision on PML-N supremo and the three-time prime minister Sharif's anticipated return will be discussed with the coalition partners.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani lawmakers are to choose a new prime minister on Monday, capping a tumultuous week of political drama that saw the ouster of Imran Khan as premier and a constitutional crisis narrowly averted after the country’s top court stepped in.

The leading contender is Shahbaz Sharif, opposition lawmaker and a brother of disgraced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. But his election will not guarantee a clear path forward — or solve Pakistan’s many economic problems, including high inflation and a soaring energy crisis.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 10 (APP): The National Assembly will elect the new leader of the House (Prime Minister) on April 11, 2022 (Monday) after passage of no-confidence motion against Imran Khan.

Opposition parties in the National Assembly on Sunday (April 10) defeated the ruling PTI government in the no-confidence resolution they jointly moved against Prime Minister Imran Khan with 174 votes, setting a new precedent in parliamentary history of the country for in-house change through a democratic and constitutional manner.
