New Delhi, Aug 8 (PTI) Indian crew members and guard escorted the Samjhauta Express from Wagah border to Attari after Pakistan authorities stopped the train on their side, sources said.

They said that Pakistan had stopped the train at Wagah border claiming security concerns, and passengers were stranded briefly.

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Wednesday informed India to withdraw its high commissioner after the country decided to downgrade diplomatic relations and suspend trade ties with India during a national security committee meeting amid recent Kashmir tensions.

Prior to the expel notification, a Pakistani Foreign Ministry official told Xinhua that the ministry has been told to cancel all the commitments with the Indian embassy.

New Delhi, Aug 7 (PTI) Pakistan has closed a corridor in its airspace, which will result in an additional up to12 minutes of flying time for overseas flights, an Air India official said on Wednesday.

The flights will have to be diverted to other routes due to the closure, the official said.

"One air corridor has been closed (in Pakistani airspace), requiring a maximum of 12 minutes diversion. It will not affect us (much)," said the Air India spokesperson.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7 (APP): Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said Pakistan could approach the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against the recent move of India on Kashmir.

Pakistan would never tolerate the unilateral decision taken by India on Kashmir, he stated while talking to a private news channel.

If war was imposed on Pakistan, a befitting response would be given to India, he stated.We are also approaching United Nations Security Council over issue, he said.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 07 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Wednesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan represented the just and legal right of Kashmiris in his address in the parliament.

In a series of tweets, the SAPM said the prime minister exposed real extremist face of India before the world.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7 (APP): Federal Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari said that abolishing status of Kashmir by India was a war crime act.

We have written a letter to United Nations regarding use of cluster bombs by India across the Line of Control and in Occupied Kashmir valley, she stated while talking to a private news channel.

As per UN charter and Geneva Convention, the Kashmir was a disputed territory between India and Pakistan, she said.

A day after India stunned the world by abolishing the special autonomous status of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan warned New Delhi that its action would carry grave consequences.     

Islamabad, Aug 6; GANASHAKTI: Amid ruckus by Opposition lawmakers, Pakistan on Tuesday held a joint session of its Parliament to discuss its future course of action after India revoked Jammu and Kashmir's special status and proposed to bifurcate the state into two union territories.

National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser briefly adjourned the joint session after Opposition lawmakers disrupted the proceedings in the House, protesting that the day's agenda did not specifically mention Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 6 (APP): The meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s contact group on Jammu and Kashmir is being held in Jeddah today (Tuesday) on the recent illegal developments regarding Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will lead the Pakistan delegation to the meeting, Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Muhammad Faisal said in a tweet with tag #KashmirBleeds.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (APP): Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Tuesday said that India had closed the doors leading to peace in the region.

Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, he said that Pakistan’s stance was clear that it stood with Kashmiri brethren, adding that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a wrong decision.
