Inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor on Nov 9 as work enters final stage

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP): The government is all set to inaugurate Kartarpur Corridor on November 9 this year making Pakistan a religious hub for Sikhs from India as well as across the globe.

Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate the facility on the said date as construction work had entered the final stage, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced Sunday on its official Twitter handle.

The inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor would coincide with the birth anniversary celebrations of founder of Sikhism Baba Guru Nanak.

PM strongly condemns Indian firing on civilian population at LoC

ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday strongly condemned the unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation forces targeting the civilian population along the Line of Control.

The Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of those martyred and early recovery of the injured consequent to the Indian firing, a PM Office statement said.

He also saluted the valor of the Pakistan Army for giving a befitting response to the Indian security forces.

Pakistan: Manmohan Singh to attend Kartarpur Corridor inauguration: Qureshi

Islamabad, Oct 20 (PTI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that former Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh would attend the Kartarpur Corridor inauguration ceremony on November 9 as a common man.

Qureshi told reporters in his home town Multan on Saturday that Singh has accepted his invitation and would attend the scheduled opening as a common man rather than as a special guest, Dawn newspaper reported.

"He is welcome even as a common participant," Qureshi said.

Pakistan will achieve all FATF targets in time: Qureshi

Islamabad, Oct 20 (PTI) The Pakistan government will achieve all targets sets by the Financial Action Task Force in time to get the country out of the anti-money laundering watchdog's grey list, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said as he accused India of trying to blacklist it.

Qureshi's remarks came after the Paris-based FATF put Pakistan on notice on Friday, warning that it will be blacklisted if it does not control terror funding by February.

Pakistani PM wears black armband to protest 75th day of Kashmir lockdown

ISLAMABAD, Oct 18 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday wore a black armband inscribed with #IamKashmir to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren who suffered
75th consecutive day of lockdown in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

He tied the band on his right arm as a gesture of solidarity with eight million Kashmiris, who were being denied basic human rights including access to food, medical and communication facilities.

Pakistan condemns Indian defence minister’s provocative statements

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): Pakistan on Tuesday condemned the recent ‘provocative’ statements made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during election rallies in Haryana, terming these an insight into the mindset of Bharatiya Jamta Party.

A Foreign Office statement said the BJP mindset was a “mix of extremist ideology, hegemonic ambitions, and obsession with Pakistan” .

PM welcomes Duke & Duchess of Cambridge at PM House

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday welcomed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their arrival at the PM House and hosted a luncheon in their honour.

PM Imran Khan warmly greeted Prince William and Kate Middleton at the main entrance before holding a formal meeting that lasted for half an hour.

IOK situation remains unchanged, lockdown enters 71st day today

ISLAMABAD, Oct 14 (APP): The situation remains unchanged in the Kashmir Valley and Muslims majority areas of Jammu region where military lockdown and communications blackout entered 71st day, Monday, in Indian occupied Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, although the occupation authorities have announced to restore some landline and postpaid phones, yet people are finding it hard to come to terms with the ongoing state of affairs due to restrictions and clampdown.

Britain's William and Kate to begin 'complex' tour of Pakistan

Details of the five-day visit are being kept under wraps, with security expected to be tight for the couple's first official trip to Pakistan, and the first visit by a British royal since William's father Charles and his wife Camilla came in 2006.
