OPEC Secretary General says U.S.-China trade deal would remove 'dark cloud' on oil market

ABU DHABI (Reuters) - OPEC’s Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo said on Wednesday he is confident that the United States and China would reach a trade deal and that it would remove a “dark cloud” over the oil market.

It is premature to discuss the December OPEC+ decision and it is too early to say if further output cuts would be needed, Barkindo told reporters on the sidelines of an industry event in Abu Dhabi.

OPEC and it’s non-OPEC partners need to continue working together to weather uncertainties and are committed to doing so, he said.

UAE Cabinet approves policy against domestic violence

Sharjah Charity International’s Water Project Drills 434 Wells In 12 Countries

SHARJAH, Nov 11 (NNN-WAM) – Donations offered to Sharjah Charity International’s, SCI, Suqya Al Khair water project, provided safe drinking water in 12 countries, by drilling 434 wells and building two water networks.

A report issued by the SCI said, the water charity project was launched in Mar, 2019.

Oman urges dialogue with Iran, stays neutral in regional tensions

ABU DHABI (Reuters) - Oman’s oil minister called on Monday for dialogue with Iran, saying his country had been campaigning for talks and would remain neutral towards regional tensions.

“Oman has always maintained that, yes, we are always neutral as neutrality suits us and suits the way we manage the differences,” Mohammed bin Hamad al-Rumhy told an oil conference in the United Arab Emirates.

Iran rejects reports of IAEA finding traces of uranium at unnamed site

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Sunday rejected as a “trap” reports that the International Atomic Energy Agency, the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog, found traces of uranium at an Iranian site that Israel called a “secret atomic warehouse”.

Two months after Reuters first reported that samples taken at the site had shown traces of uranium, the IAEA on Wednesday told member states at a closed-door briefing that it had found uranium traces at a site in Iran it did not name, but diplomats at the meeting said it was clearly the same place.

Iran says case open on ex-FBI agent missing there on CIA job

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran is acknowledging for the first time it has an open case before its Revolutionary Court over the 2007 disappearance of a former FBI agent on an unauthorized CIA mission to the country, renewing questions over what happened to him.

In a filing to the United Nations, Iran said the case over Robert Levinson was “on going,” without elaborating.

Iran downs a drone over southern port city of Mahshahr: report

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iranian media reported on Friday that Iran had shot down a drone over its southern port city of Mahshahr, without providing further details.

“Iran’s army has downed an unknown drone in the port city of Mahshahr,” the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

Other Iranian news outlets carried the same report, without elaborating on whether it was a military or civilian drone. Iranian officials were not immediately available for comment.

UAE Announces New Oil And Gas Reserves

ABU DHABI, Nov 5 (NNN-WAM) – The Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC), the highest energy decision-making authority of the United Arab Emirates, announced major increases in Abu Dhabi oil and gas reserves.

The SPC also announced “an historic decision,” to list on Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s (ADNOC) Murban crude oil, on “an exchange” in the future.

Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, who presided over the SPC meeting, held at ADNOC headquarters, said, these announcements are “strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global energy player.”

UN Organisation’s Conference Kicks Off In UAE To Boost Industrial Development

ABU DHABI, Nov 4 (NNN-WAM) – The 18th session of the General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), opened on Sunday, in Abu Dhabi.

The conference will look into the key role of inclusive and sustainable industrial development, to achieve the Agenda 2030, in particular, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
