Turkey retaliates against regime attack in Syria’s Idlib

16 June 2019; MEMO: Bashar al-Assad regime forces attacked a Turkish observation point in Syria and it was retaliated with heavy weapons, Turkish Defence Ministry said on Sunday, Anadolu Agency reports.

In a statement, the ministry said regime forces launched an artillery attack from Idlib region’s Tall Bazan area to Murak area, where a Turkish observation point is situated.

It said the regime attack was “deliberate” and was retaliated with heavy weapons.

Syrian army fights to restore rebel-held areas in Hama

HAMA, Syria, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Syrian army is regaining control over areas that fell to the rebels in an attack which started three days ago, a military source told Xinhua on Sunday.

The Syrian officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, made the remarks from the town of Kafr Houd, which was captured by the army twice within days.

The officer said that the army recaptured Kafr Houd and is moving forward to retake more towns that fell to the rebels since Friday.

Syrian military airfield in Homs comes under Israeli rocket fire - SANA

SYRIA, TASS, June 3: Syrian military airfield T-4, located in the Homs Governorate came under rocket fire, SANA agency reported on Monday.

According to the report, the Syrian air defense forces repelled the attack.

According to a Syrian military source, the air defense weapons managed to shoot down two missiles. In the attack at least one person died, two more were injured, the source said. Sirfield infrastructure was damaged. The source added that the Syrian air defense was able to hit two enemy missiles while repelling the attack.

Israel states that it shelled Syrian territory in response to attack from Syria

SYRIA, TASS, June 2: The Israel Defense Forces tweeted on Sunday that it attacked Syrian territory, noting that it did so in response to an attack from Syria.

"Last night, 2 rockets were launched from Syria to Israel, 1 landing within Israeli territory. In response, we struck a number of Syrian Armed Forces military targets," the Israel Defense Forces reported.

Syria’s air defenses hit enemy’s air targets near Damascus - SANA

SYRIA, TASS, June 2:  Syria’s air defenses have destroyed the enemy’s air targets on the southern outskirts of Damascus on Sunday. The news agency SANA reported that explosions can be heard in this area.

According to the agency, the air defenses successfully repelled the enemy targets coming out of the Golan Heights at 2:22.

The TV channel Al Arabiya reported, citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, that the attack was carried out against Hezbollah’s base and arms depots.

U.S. foreign policy leans more to global hegemony than harmony

DAMASCUS, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. foreign policy has always been characterized as choosing hegemony instead of global harmony and cooperation, experts said.

Throughout history, the U.S. "negative" foreign policy was felt in many countries, and most recently in the Middle East.

The U.S. has moved its embassy in May 2018 in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which is a contested territory between the Israelis and Palestinians.

Syrian military kill 10 in Hama province when repelling attack

MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/: The Syrian government forces have killed ten militants and destroyed a vehicle when repelling an attack by terrorists from the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group (formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, banned in Russia) in the Hama province, head of the Russian Center for reconciliation of the conflicting sides Viktor Kupchishin said on Tuesday.

Ceasefire violations in Syria's Idlib leading to new victims

ALEPPO, /Syria/. May 24. /TASS/. Syrian Idlib is firing shells toward government forces in violation of the ceasefire regime, which results in new civilian victims. Not only adults get wounded and injured, but also children, civilians hospitalized in Aleppo told reporters.

"I was walking down the street and heard whistle and a bang, I don’t remember anything else. I came round already in the hospital. The doctors say that I’ll survive, but I know that I won’t be able to work and provide for my family as I used to," local Sammer Srur said.
