Iran FM calls on Gulf states to resort to dialogue post-Trump era

10 Nov 2020; MEMO: The Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, has called on Gulf states to resort to dialogue for the sake of the region's prosperity, saying, "Trump is leaving, and we and our neighbours will remain".

"Betting on outsiders to provide security is never a good gamble," Zarif wrote on Twitter on Sunday evening, adding: "We extend our hand to our neighbors for dialog to resolve differences".

Iran Urges U.S. To Cease Economic Pressures

TEHRAN, Nov 9 (NNN-IRNA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry, yesterday called for cessation of the U.S. economic pressures against the country.

The U.S. administration “must make up for its past measures and stop its economic war against the Islamic Republic,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, told Iran’s state TV.

“We are waiting for practical steps” to be taken by the United States, said Khatibzadeh, adding that, Washington should commit its international obligations.

Iran starts drilling operations on Phase 11 of South Pars gas field after years of delay

TEHRAN, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran started drilling operations on Saturday on Phase 11 of the South Pars gas field in southern Iran after years of delay, semi official SHANA news agency reported.

The aim is "to achieve a daily production capacity of 1 billion cubic feet of sour gas from the phase," said Mohsen Rezaei, caretaker of the project, adding 12 wells will be developed in two stages.

During the first stage, five appraisal/development wells will be drilled and completed, with an output of 500 million cubic feet per day.

‘Iran witnessed worst days during Trump presidency’: Rouhani

06 Nov 2020; MEMO: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared that his country experienced its worst days during Donald Trump’s presidency.

This came in a speech Rouhani delivered via video conferencing on Thursday, at the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of the water transfer and desalination project in the Arabian Gulf.

Rouhani stated that the US could not thwart Iran’s renaissance despite using the sanctions policy.

Iran foreign minister says US no longer 'controls world'

06 Nov 2020; MEMO: Iran believes the US government no longer can “control what’s happening in the world” or show other countries how to protect citizens’ rights, the Iranian foreign minister said on Thursday during a visit to ally Venezuela.

Speaking two days after the US presidential election, Mohammad Javad Zarif said the era of “Western hegemony had ended” as he praised Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for resisting a US-coordinated campaign to oust him.

Iran’s armed forces chief offers to help Turkey’s earthquake victims

04 Nov 2020; MEMO: The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Muhammad Hossein Baqeri, said yesterday that the Islamic Republic’s armed forces are ready to help the victims of the earthquake that hit the western Turkish city of Izmir on Friday.

In a telegram sent to his Turkish counterpart, Lieutenant General Yasar Guler, Baqeri said that the Iranian armed forces are ready to provide “any form of assistance to the victims in the aftermath of the earthquake”.

Iran Air Force conducts large-scale manoeuvres

03 Nov 2020; MEMO: The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) began large-scale manoeuvres on Monday covering as many as seven airbases and involving dozens of manned and unmanned fighter and transport aircraft in the central province of Isfahan, IRNA news agency has reported. Air Force spokesman Brigadier General Farhad Goudarzi said that the exercise is expected to last for two days.

Normalization of some Arab states' ties with Israel not to last long

Tehran, Oct 29, IRNA – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said that certain Arab countries' normalization of relations with the Zionist regime will not last long and that its disgrace will stay with them in the history.

The Iranian parliament speaker made the remarks addressing the 34th International Islamic Unity Conference on Thursday via video conference. 

Iran proposes building largest commercial port east of Strait of Hormuz

29 Oct 2020; MEMO: Iranian authorities have proposed a plan to build the largest commercial port in the city of Jask, east of the Strait of Hormuz, expecting it to become an economic and commercial centre within ten years, RT reported on Wednesday.

General Fereydoun Hemmati, governor of Hormozgan, announced that the initial proposal was submitted, and decisions were immediately taken in coordination with the Ministry of Roads, Ports and Maritime Organisation.
