IBM has stopped advertising on social media platform X after a report said its ads were appearing alongside material praising Adolf Hitler and Nazis — a fresh setback as the site formerly known as Twitter tries to win back big brands and their ad dollars.

The U.S. tech company made the decision after a report Thursday by the liberal advocacy group Media Matters said ads from IBM, Apple, Oracle, NBCUniversal’s Bravo network and Comcast were placed next to antisemitic material on X.

Turkiye President Erdogan visits patients transferred from Gaza

16 November 2023; MEMO: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Thursday, paid a visit to the patients who were transferred from Gaza to Turkiye via Egypt, Anadolu Agency reports.

A total of 27 cancer patients are currently under treatment at the Bilkent City Hospital in the capital, Ankara.

Erdogan, along with Health Minister, Fahrettin Koca, and Hospital Chief Physician, Prof. Ercan Yeni, visited patients one by one and expressed his get well soon wishes.

Iran FM describes Palestinian resistance as legitimate liberation movement

Tehran, IRNA - Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has termed the Palestinian resistance as a liberating and legitimate movement against the usurped Zionist regime.

Addressing a number of UN officials, humanitarian organizations, religious institutions, university professors, and some foreign ambassadors in Geneva on Wednesday, Amirabdollahian highlighted that “there is no logic and basis for the right to legitimate defense for the occupying regime".

USA: Texas jury convicts woman of fatally shooting cyclist Anna ‘Mo’ Wilson in a jealous rage

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Texas jury on Thursday convicted a woman of murder in the May 2022 shooting death of rising professional cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson in a case that led investigators on a 43-day international search for the killer.

Kaitlin Armstrong, 35, faces a penalty of up to life in prison. The sentencing phase of her trial will continue Friday.

Israeli tanks surround Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City

16 November 2023; MEMO: The Palestine Red Crescent Society announced, on Thursday, that Israeli tanks are besieging Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in the Gaza City, and its ambulance teams are unable to reach the injured people due to the intense clashes, Anadolu Agency reports.

The society said in a statement on Facebook that tanks are surrounding Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, and there are intense clashes.

It added, "Red Crescent ambulance teams are unable to move to reach the injured and wounded".

'Zionist regime’s backers not qualified to preach human rights to Iran'

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has rebuked Western countries for drafting and voting for an anti-Iran UN resolution, saying they are not qualified to preach human rights to Iranians.

In reaction to the anti-Iran resolution in the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, Kanaani said that the countries that have a long history of systematic human rights violations and crimes against nations are in no position to give human rights advice to the Iranian government and people.
