Latest radar ready to go on combat alert in Russian Arctic

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/: The third Rezonans-N radar capable of spotting hypersonic missiles flying at a speed of 20 times the speed of sound and stealth aircraft is ready to assume combat duty on Russia’s Novaya Zemlya Arctic Archipelago, Rezonans Research Center CEO Ivan Nazarenko told TASS on Thursday.

"The third Rezonans-N radar in the Arctic has been deployed on Novaya Zemlya. It is turned on and tuned in, has undergone all the trials, has been accepted by the military and is ready to go on combat alert within the Northern Fleet," the chief executive said.

Moscow hopes Vienna meeting on Iranian nuclear deal will yield results

Russia’s 1st upgraded Tu-160M strategic bomber enters trials

MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/: Russia has assembled its first upgraded Tupolev Tu-160M strategic missile-carrying bomber and started its trials, a source in the defense industry told reporters on Thursday.

"On November 28, the first heavily upgraded Tu-160M strategic missile-carrying bomber was transferred from the production workshops to the flight testing station of the Kazan Aviation Enterprise for factory ground and flight tests," the source said.

After the ground tests are over, the Tu-160M will enter the stage of flight tests, the source added.

IMF to examine Nordic efforts to stop money laundering in the Baltics

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund will examine efforts by Nordic banks and regulators to stop money laundering in the region and the Baltic countries, Sweden’s central bank said on Thursday, following a string of alleged lapses.

Nordic banks have been hit by a steady stream of allegations over failures to combat money laundering in the Baltics, which have sent shares in Sweden’s Swedbank (SWEDa.ST) and SEB (SEBa.ST) and Denmark’s Danske Bank (DANSKE.CO) tumbling.

Red Cross says it repatriating 128 detainees from Saudi Arabia to Yemen on Thursday

GENEVA (Reuters) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said on Thursday it was repatriating 128 detainees from Saudi Arabia to the Houthi-held Yemeni capital of Sanaa.

In an announcement posted on Twitter, the neutral aid agency said: “Today we are repatriating 128 #detainees from #KSA to #Sanaa. We welcome this initiative and we are pleased to see humanitarian considerations taken into account for the sake of the families waiting for their loved ones to return home.”

Opponents attack Johnson’s character as election day looms

Pakistan can provide a new dimension to int’l maritime trade: Zaidi

LONDON, Nov 27 (APP): Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi Tuesday underlined that Pakistan could provide a new dimension to the international maritime trade by linking Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East via sea route.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to International Maritime Organization (IMO) and to the international framework for cooperation amongst maritime nations.

Syed Ali Haider Zaidi said this in his address and country’s statement at the 31st IMO Assembly Session in London.
