Ukraine's president says Kiev unlikely to publish Trump call transcript

STARE, Ukraine (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Monday Kiev was unlikely to publish a summary of a July 25 call in which U.S. President Donald Trump pushed for an investigation into political rival Joe Biden.

Zelenskiy said that Kiev was ready to investigate any case in which the law was broken, but as an independent country, it would not act simply on the orders of others. He said he had had two phone conversations with Trump.

No probe into company linked with Biden’s son — Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau

KIEV, September 27. /TASS/: Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau is not probing into the activities of Burisma holding company linked with former US Vice-President Josef Biden’s son Hunter, the Bureau said on Friday.

"Changes on the Burisma Limited board, which are now in focus of attention of the international community, took place only in May 2014, so, they have never been and are not a subject of investigation of the Ukrainian National Anti-Corruption Bureau," it stated on its Facebook account.

Top security adviser of Ukraine leader quits

KIEV, Sept 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) — Ukrainian top security adviser Oleksandr Danylyuk announced his resignation Friday in a new setback for President Volodymyr Zelensky, caught in a global scandal after a controversial phone call with Donald Trump.

The surprise move by the respected reformer was the first high-profile resignation since comedian-turned-president Zelensky took office in May on the promises to fight corruption.

Danylyuk, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, did not disclose his reasons behind the resignation.

Ukraine backs dual citizenship except with Russia — vice PM

KIEV, September 27. /TASS/: The dual citizenship policy meets the interests of Ukraine, excluding the dual citizenship with Russia, Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmitry Kuleba said in an interview with the European Pravda newspaper published on Friday.

"Dual citizenship is an objective need now and meets the Ukrainian interests, excluding recognizing dual citizenship with Russia," he pointed out clarifying that it is not the position of the entire government, but his own.

Ukrainian leader bristles at release of Trump transcript

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s president bristled at the release of his comments from a private conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, which caused him some embarrassment at home.

The rough transcript of Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy released Wednesday shows that Trump pressed Ukraine to “look into” his Democratic political rival Joe Biden. The July 25 call is now at the center of a U.S. impeachment probe.

Zelenskiy opponents say comments about Europeans to Trump could hurt Ukraine

KIEV (Reuters) - Opponents of Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday they were worried that the Ukrainian president’s criticism of European leaders in a call with Donald Trump could damage the country’s international standing.

Zelenskiy, a former television comedian and political novice who was elected president in April, has been thrust into the center of a U.S. domestic political storm after the White House released a reconstruction of his July 25 phone call with Trump.

Ukraine’s Zelensky says his conversation with Trump was ‘private, confidential’

KIEV, September 25. /TASS/: Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on Tuesday said his telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump the latter agreed to make public was "private and confidential".

When approached by CNN at the United Nations in New York, Zelensky simply responded that his conversations with President Donald Trump were "private and confidential."

When asked if he wanted the transcript of the call to be released, Zelensky said, "We'll see."

Ukraine buys Soviet-made Gvozdika self-propelled artillery guns from Czech Republic

KIEV, September 24. /TASS/: The Ukrainian state-run company Ukrinmash has purchased 16 Soviet-made 122mm Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems from the Czech Republic, the Ukrainian website Defense Express reported on Tuesday.

"The combat hardware’s total value amounted to $1.56 million," the website reads.
