PM warns world India could attempt ‘false flag operation’ to cover HR violations in Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (APP): Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday warned the international community of the high risk of India’s attempt to create a “false flag operation” to divert attention from its massive human rights violations.

“The Indian leadership will, in all probability, attempt a false flag operation to divert attention from its massive human rights violations & the unleashing of a reign of terror in IOJK,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

India is on dangerous road, playing with fire in IOK: President

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (APP): President Dr Arif Alvi Friday said that India was playing with fire in the Indian Occupied Kashmir by changing the status of the territory and suppressing the people’s will.

“If India feels that this is going to improve situation with these laws, they are living in fool’s paradise… It is playing with fire and it would burn at least the secularity of India,” the president remarked in an interview with Vice News, a Canadian-American media outlet.

Despite tensions, Pakistan stands ready to open Kartarpur Corridor

Islamabad, Aug 23 (PTI) Pakistan on Friday said that despite tensions with India, it stands ready to open the Kartarpur Corridor and welcome the Sikh pilgrims to take part in celebrations in connection with the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said this while speaking to a delegation of civil society and parliamentarians of Afghanistan, which is currently visiting Pakistan for the 'Track-II dialogue, Beyond Boundaries'.

Mazari asks UNICEF to remove Indian actress as UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari has sent a letter to UNICEF to take action against Indian actress Priyanka Chopra and remove her as its peace ambassador for her warmongering comment.

In a letter to the UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H Fore, she drew the attention towards the issue of Priyanka Chopra’s UN Goodwill Ambassador for Peace.

The Minister said, “Chopra has publicly endorsed this Indian government position and also supported the nuclear threat issued to Pakistan by the Indian defence minister”. 

Pakistan to raise issue of India’s illegal annexation of Kashmir at all International forums

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said the government was evaluating the possibilities of raising the annexation of Kashmir by India at all possible international forums including United Nations Human Right Council, International Court of Justice and other such forums to expose India’s nefarious designs.

Briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, he said Kashmir issue has become a grave threat to the peace of the entire world. Pakistan was fully alert. World was being sensitized over the situation.

Trump once again offers mediation on ‘explosive & complicated’ Kashmir issue

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): A day after his telephonic conversation with the leaders of Pakistan and India, U.S. President Donald Trump has once again offered mediation between the two neighbouring countries on the “explosive and complicated” issue of Kashmir.

“Kashmir’s a very complicated place. You have the Hindus, and you have the Muslims, and I wouldn’t say they get along so great,” Trump told reporters in the White House on Tuesday.

Afghan Delegation Arrives In Pakistan For Dialogue

Firdous lauds Trump’s reconciliatory role on Kashmir

Indian deputy HC summoned over LoC violations

ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP): Director General South Asia and SAARC Dr Mohammad Faisal on Monday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC).

On Sunday, in the Hot Spring and Chirikot Sectors of LoC, two elderly civilians including Lal Muhammad, 75 and Hassan Din, 61, residents of village Nagrai were martyred, while a minor, Saddam, 7, received serious injuries.

PM extends Army Chief’s tenure in view of regional security situation, Kashmir: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP): Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi Monday said Prime Minister Imran Khan using his constitutional authority had decided to extend the tenure of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa for another three years in view of the regional security situation and Kashmir issue.

The prime minister also took the decision in view of the peace process in Afghanistan, he said while talking to the media on his arrival here at the Parliament House to attend an in-camera Parliamentary Committee meeting on National Security.
