India: Modi-Shah not invincible: Raut on Delhi Assembly poll results

Mumbai, Feb 16 (PTI) Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday said the Delhi Assembly poll results indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah are not invincible.

In his weekly column in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana', its executive editor Raut criticised BJP's "religion-centric" political strategy while lauding the developmental works of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government.

Portuguese president arrives in Goa on 2-day visit

Panaji, Feb 15 (PTI) President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal arrived in Goa on Saturday on a two-day visit, during which his country and the state government will sign an MoU on augmenting water supply and sewerage management.

He was welcomed at the international airport here by troupes performing traditional dances, and feted at Chicalim and Sirodao villages by local residents, officials said.

India: Develop courage to be dissenters: Justice Chandrachud

Gandhinagar, Feb 15 (PTI) Supreme Court judge Justice DY Chandrachud on Saturday asked students of a law university here in Gujarat to develop the "courage to dissent" and be optimistic and true to their conscience.

Speaking at the convocation ceremony at the Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Justice Chandrachud also asked the budding law professionals to learn to handle failures and do something good every day in life.

India: We remain firm on decisions on CAA despite pressure: PM

Varanasi (UP), Feb 16 (PTI) Ruling out a rethink on decisions on CAA and Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asserted that his government remains and will remain firm on the steps, which have been taken in national interest, despite pressure from all sides.

"Be it the scrapping of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir or the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the country waited for decisions on these for years," he told a public meeting here during a day-long visit to his Lok Sabha constituency.

New Delhi, Feb 15 (PTI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged scientists to focus on real-time social issues being faced by the country such as malnutrition by providing value addition in agricultural products.

Chairing a meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Society here on Friday, Modi emphasised on the importance of developing virtual labs so that science can further be taken to all students in each and every corner of the country.

India: Bhagwat inaugurates new Gujarat RSS headquarter building

Ahmedabad, Feb 15 (PTI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the newly-constructed Gujarat headquarter building of the Sangh- Dr Hedgewar Bhavan- here on Saturday.

He inaugurated the five-storey building, located in Maninagar area, after offering flowers to a large painting of Bharat Mata installed at its main entrance.
