Venezuela Supports Cuba In Condemning EU For Manipulating EU-Latin, Caribbean Summit

CARACAS, Jul 12 (NNN-ABN) – The Venezuelan government said yesterday, it supports Cuba’s condemnation of the “manipulative conduct of the European Union (EU)” in organising an upcoming EU-Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) Summit in Brussels, Belgium.

“Venezuela decisively supports the condemnations made by Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla,” the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

U.S. commits worst attacks against Venezuela in 200 years, says top lawmaker

CARACAS, July 5 (Xinhua) -- The recent U.S. administrations have launched the worst attacks against Venezuela in the past two centuries, a top Venezuelan lawmaker said Wednesday.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the 212th anniversary of Venezuela's Declaration of Independence, Jorge Rodriguez, president of Venezuela's National Assembly, denounced the U.S. sanctions against the South American country as "crimes against humanity."

Washington has "subjected Venezuela to the worst aggression it has experienced in the last 212 years," Rodriguez said.

Pilot killed as fighter jet crashes during Venezuela exercise

CARACAS, July 3 (NNN-AGENCIES) — A pilot was killed when a Russian-made fighter jet crashed in a mountainous area in northern Venezuela during practice exercises ahead of a parade to mark the country’s independence, President Nicolas Maduro said.

“I regret to inform that during the practice manoeuvres … an aircraft of our Bolivarian Military Aviation fell to the ground, causing the physical loss of the distinguished pilot Col. Paulino Jose Millan Sabino,” the president wrote on Twitter.

Venezuelan women are increasingly taking up the grueling work of fishing in the Caribbean

CHUAO, Venezuela (AP) — Long before sunrise, dozens of people gather around more than 50 boats along this portion of Venezuela’s vast Caribbean coast, their tanned bodies showing scars and maimed hands from years of fishing. Most of them are men, but women are increasingly among them.

Exclusive: Venezuela's oil tankers at risk of sinking, fires, spills, report finds

PUNTO FIJO, May 4 (Reuters) - More than half of the 22 oil tankers in Venezuela's fleet are so run down that they should be immediately repaired or taken out of service, according to an internal report from state-run oil company PDVSA that was shared exclusively with Reuters.

The report by PDVSA's maritime branch, entitled "Critical deficiencies and risks of PDV Marina's tanker fleet," said years of deferred maintenance had left the entire fleet with "low levels of reliability," at risk of spills, sinking, fires, collisions or flooding.

Iran, Venezuela sign new oil cooperation agreements

Tehran (ISNA) – Iran and Venezuela have signed new oil cooperation documents and memorandums of understanding in the fields of development of oil and gas fields, reconstruction of refineries and petrochemical complexes, and oil trade.

Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji, who has traveled to Caracas to enhance bilateral cooperation with Venezuela in the downstream and upstream sectors of oil industry, met with Venezuela's Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and Oil Minister Pedro Rafael Tellechea, during which they signed these documents and MoUs.
