CARACAS, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Venezuela denounced the "negative impact" of sanctions on the development of Caribbean countries, an official said Thursday, calling for more support for climate-vulnerable countries in the region.

Raul Li Causi, Venezuela's deputy foreign affairs minister for the Caribbean, made the remarks during the annual meeting of the board of governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) held in Saint Lucia.

Li Causi denounced on social media the "anachronistic international financial order" and rejected the "criminal unilateral coercive measures and their negative impact on promoting development in the Caribbean region."
