India: Sisters drink dye after fight on dress, elder dies, younger critical

Kanpur: Elder sister drank dye after a dispute over wearing her favourite suit in Kalyanpur here. The relatives admitted her to LLR Hospital for treatment.

At the same time, the younger sister, who was feeling guilty after the incident, also drank the dye.

Sushila Gautam, a resident of Vikram Nagar, Kalyanpur, works in Delhi Public School. Her 22-year-old daughter Kanchan got into an argument with her younger sister Priya on Saturday night over wearing her favourite suit.

Aggrieved by the controversy, Kanchan drank the dye late at night. When her condition started worsening her relatives got her admitted to Hallet Hospital.

Priya also drank the dye on Monday afternoon due to guilt feeling. The relatives were admitted to a private hospital on New Shivli Road. While elder sister Kanchan died during treatment at LLR Hospital on Tuesday morning.

Kalyanpur Inspector Ajay Kumar Singh said that as soon as the information about the incident is received, the police were sent to the spot and legal actions were taken.
