India: Three girls drown in Yamuna river near Sajeti village

Kanpur: Three girls drowned on the Yamuna river below the railway bridge near the Sajeti police station area and Shahbazpur village on Wednesday morning.

From Zara Dera village of Fatehpur, they had come to complete the rite of  Maur Sirwane. 

The people hurriedly pulled the three out of the river and took them to the hospital.

One teenager died before treatment at Hamirpur District Hospital, while two have been treated in critical condition.

Residents of Dera of Jara of Chandpur police station area of ​​Fatehpur district had reached the banks of Yamuna river near Shahbazpur village by tractor-trolley.

Neyveli outpost in charge Sohail Raj told that there was a marriage program in his family, in which he had come to the river bank to get rites done.

The three were identified as Archana, the 16-year-old daughter of Pappu Nishad, resident of Jara's Dera village, 17-year-old Shivani and Kundan, daughter of Chhatrapal Nishad and Rita, the one-year-old daughter of Kundan Singh.

After being evicted, Rita's condition was critical. Relatives immediately took her to Hamirpur District Hospital. She died before reaching the hospital.

Subsequently, the relatives went back to their village with the dead body without informing anyone.
