India: Two cousins die due to drowning at Koyala Ghat in Kanpur

Kanpur: Two teenagers who went to bathe in the Ganges at Koyla Ghat in the Cantt area died due to drowning.

The police, who reached the incident, with the help of divers, took out the bodies of both of them after a struggle of about an hour.There was concern among the families.

Relatives of the deceased said that Sushant, 17-year-old son of Neeraj Pal, resident of Chakeri police station area, was staying at his maternal aunt's house for some days.

On Sunday morning, both of them had left the house saying that they would go for a walk. They reached the Koyala ghat to take a bath.

According to eyewitnesses, both the teenagers went to the ghat and went to take a bath. Not long after, people overheard their screams.

By the time the divers present rushed to rescue them, both the youths had drowned.  The relatives started looking for them. On seeing their clothes and mobile there was a possibility of untoward happening.

After the incident, the police with the help of local divers pulled both out.

Later, they were taken to KPM Hospital, where the doctor declared both of them brought dead.

Cantt station in-charge Archana Singh told that two cousins ​​have died while taking a bath into the Ganges.
