JERUSALEM, March 8 (Xinhua) -- One third of workers in the Israeli hi-tech industry are women, according to an annual status report issued by the Israel Innovation Authority on the occasion of the International Women's Day.

Only 22.6 percent of senior executives in the Israel's hi-tech industry are female and 9.4 percent of the chief executive officers who founded startup companies in Israel between 2010 and 2021 were women, according to the report.

Furthermore, women account for 16.5 percent of partners in Israel's largest and most active venture capital companies, with 57 percent of these firms lacking a single female partner, it added.

Females make up 23 percent of individuals serving in development and cyber roles in mandatory military service, according to the report.
