Aligarh, Oct 7 (PTI) A married woman was allegedly raped by four men on Wednesday when she had gone out to relieve herself in a field outside her village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh district, police said.
A family member of the woman said the accused, who have been identified, also recorded the act and threatened her that they would circulate the video if she approached the police.
The alleged incident took place around 1 pm when the victim, aged around 30 and a resident of the village under Kuwarsi police station limits, had gone out to attend to nature's call, police said.
The family member also said it was the victim's child who had rushed to the spot after hearing her cries for help.
Additional SP, Civil Lines, Vikas Kumar told mediapersons that the woman has been sent to the district hospital and investigations into the case are underway.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against four people under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376-D (gang-rape), 354 (assault or criminal force against a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) and section 67 (transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the IT Act, police said.
Senior police officials have rushed to the spot.
