AMMAN, Sept 10 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan and Tunisia reaffirmed their stance that the two-state solution is the only way to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The two sides stressed the need to fulfil the Palestinians’ rights and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative, according to a statement by Jordan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“We continue to coordinate on this issue and we communicate with international community and condemn unilateral Israeli measures, that seek to tamper with the status quo of Jerusalem’s Muslim and Christian holy sites,” said Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi.
They also underlined the need for intensified cooperation in combating terrorism.
The visiting Tunisian Foreign Minister, Khemaies Jhinaoui, called for a cease-fire in Libya, saying, “the fighting cannot continue while nothing is being done.”
