India: LS proceedings adjourned again

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) The proceedings of Lok Sabha were adjourned for an hour as soon as the House met at 1 pm on Friday.

The Chair adjourned proceedings till 2 pm as soon as the House met following an earlier adjournment over uproarious scenes in the House.

The House had witnessed uproar during Question hour when Health Minister Harsh Vardhan attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally here recently.

India: Modi doesn't behave like prime minister: Rahul

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "tubelight" barb, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said he does not behave like a prime minister.

"Normally, a prime minister has a particular status, a prime minister has a particular way of behaving, a particular stature, our prime minister doesn't have these. He does not behave in a prime ministerial way," he told reporters outside Parliament.

India: Delhi HC stays increase in auto fares by AAP govt

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) The Delhi High Court on Friday stayed the AAP government's decision to increase auto-rickshaw fares in the national capital.

A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar said, "We hereby stay the operation of the June 12 notification issued by the Delhi government till the next date of hearing."

286 people renounced Indian citizenship between 2016-18

New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) A total of 286 people have renounced Indian citizenship between 2016 and 2018, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said 19 people renounced Indian citizenship in 2016 and 60 others in 2017.

A total of 207 Indians have renounced citizenship in 2018 (till October 22, 2018), he said replying a written question.

India: If Kejriwal is terrorist, arrest him: AAP dares BJP

New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) If the BJP thinks Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is a "terrorist", he should be arrested and sent to jail, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh dared the Modi government in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP during the debate on Motion of Thanks to the President's address, Singh accused the BJP of vitiating the election atmosphere in Delhi and spreading hate in its poll campaign.

"They are calling an elected chief minister terrorist.... If Arvind Kejriwal is a terrorist, arrest him and put him in jail," Singh said.

India: Shah's speeches contain 'only trash': Rahul

New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said Union Home Minister Amit Shah's speeches contain "only trash" and asked people not to listen to him.

Addressing poll rallies in Kondli and Chandni Chowk assembly constituencies of Delhi, the Congress leader claimed that unlike the leaders of other parties, he never lied in his speeches.
