Pakistan’s New Gov’t Attaches Great Importance To Developing Pak-China Relations: PM

ISLAMABAD, Apr 13 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s new government attaches great importance to strengthening relations between Pakistan and China, Pakistani Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif said here yesterday.

Shahbaz, who was elected as the 23rd prime minister of Pakistan on Monday, and took the oath on the same day, made the remarks during a meeting with Pang Chunxue, charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, at the Prime Minister House, in Islamabad.

India: CBI arrests TMC leader in Congress councillor's murder

Purulia, Apr 13 (PTI) The CBI on Wednesday arrested a TMC leader in connection with the murder of Congress councillor Tapan Kandu in West Bengal's Purulia district, a senior officer said.

The man, a non-teaching staff at a primary school, was arrested in the early hours of the day after he was interrogated for around 21 hours by officers of the central agency, he said.

India: SP leader's 'illegal' building razed in Kannauj

Kannauj (UP), Apr 13 (PTI) An "illegal" structure constructed by a Samajwadi Party leader allegedly after encroaching upon government land was razed here on Wednesday.

Additional District Magistrate Umakant Tiwari told PTI, "The illegal structure belonging to Rajnikant Yadav was constructed after encroaching upon government land. The action was taken following due process."

Rajnikant Yadav is a former zila panchayat member from the Samajwadi Party. A complaint regarding the structure was lodged in 2017.

India: Anti-Muslim communal hate on rise in Karnataka State

12 April 2022; MEMO: Earlier this year, when a group of Muslim school girls in the southern Indian State of Karnataka were barred from entering the classroom wearing the hijab, or headscarf, no one expected the issue to snowball into a series of hate campaigns against the Muslim community in the State, Anadolu News Agency reports.

In recent weeks, right-wing groups in the State have launched anti-Muslim campaigns, including the exclusion of Muslim traders from fairs near Hindu temples and a push to ban halal meat.

India: Hazy sunshine remains irritating for students in Jajmau

Kanpur: Hot with hazy sunshine remained the highlight today while the real feel of the temperature was recorded at 42° Celsius.

Though schools in Jajmau are over at 12 in the day, the students are mostly irritated with the scorching heat of the sun.

One class 9 student Saad said that it was too tough for him to return from school at the noon. He was too much disturbed by the severity of unbearable sunshine. 

Telling of his ordeal he stated though he got an e-rickshaw timely he could not bear the brunt of the hot sun on the way.

Speeding Train Runs Over Six In South India

NEW DELHI, Apr 12 (NNN-PTI) – Six persons were crushed to death, after being run over by a speeding train, in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, police said today.

The accident took place last night, in Srikakulam district, about 461 km north-east of Amaravati, the main city of Andhra Pradesh.

According to officials, the accident took place when some passengers in the Secunderabad-Guwahati Superfast Express, got down onto the adjoining railway track, after the train stopped due to a technical glitch.

India: Rape victim dies at hospital in UP's Gorakhpur

Sant Kabir Nagar (UP), Apr 11 (PTI) A 22-year-old woman, who was allegedly raped and severely beaten up by a youth, died in a Gorakhpur hospital on Monday, police said.

Police were informed on Monday that the woman was founds seriously injured in front of her house and her family members admitted her to a hospital from where she was referred to Gorakhpur for treatment, SP Dr Kaustubh said.

She was undergoing treatment in the Gorakhpur hospital where she died on Monday, the SP said.
