Russia records 5,729 new daily coronavirus cases in past day

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/: Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 5,729 over the past day to 21,894,157, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Sunday.

As many as 427 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day (down by 48.8%). The number of hospitalized patients declined in 52 regions, while in 14 other regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in 19 regions. A day earlier, 834 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases rose by 1,755 over the past day against 1,921 a day earlier, reaching 3,330,104, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 671 over the past day against 730 a day earlier, reaching 1,838,688.

COVID-19 recoveries

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 4,021 over the past day, reaching 21,306,526, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters. A day earlier 4,586 patients recovered.

COVID-19 death toll

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll increased by 41 over the past day reaching 394,694 since the beginning of the pandemic, the crisis center announced. A day earlier 43 COVID-19 deaths were registered.
