SANAA, Mar 9 (NNN-YPA) – Yemen’s Houthi militia announced yesterday, they shot down a drone above Harad city, in the north-western province of Hajjah, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV quoted a statement by Houthi military spokesman as saying.

The Houthis said, the drone “was believed to be made in the United States and belongs to the Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen.”

The coalition has made no comment yet.

The coalition-backed Yemeni government forces have been fighting the Houthi militia for nearly seven years, and Hajjah is among the critical frontlines.

In Feb, the Houthi militia drove the Yemeni government forces out of Harad, and has controlled large area of Hajjah.

The Houthis have recently intensified cross-border missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Most of such attacks were reportedly intercepted.
