India: A jab at the vaccination centre remains tougher task

Kanpur: One can easily understand the anger and pain of a person who after waiting for hours in the queue was told of end of the vaccine just at the time he nears  for the jab. If the person happens to be old his agony heightens. Several vaccination centres were reported to be complaining of doses finishing just afternoon. In the meantime, people turning up for the second dose at the city's different vaccination centres have also grumbled at the paucity of the second dose.

The health department has arranged 120 to 130 doses for the first and the second dose on as many as 79 centres on Saturday. When people caused an uproar a total of 50 more doses were later sent to Gwaltoli Centre here. Reacting to this problem one seeker told she was allotted this centre for the first dose. Surprisingly enough, she was asked to come the next day. At the medical college vaccination center, the second dose vaccine was over by 1 p.m. One elderly person along with his family members was seen grappling with the situation from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m

Health Department's additional director, Dr G K Mishra told that about 87.5% of people were administered with the first and the second dose.
