Kanpur: What was proposed on November 19, 2019, seems to have been talked over again by the Divisional level railway officers now.
To lessen the traffic load on Kanpur Central station, it was agreed to develop a new railway station at Juhi here.
The survey report was not completed due to Covid complications. Now, there is news of the proposed start of the survey on this idea.
It has also been reportedly cleared that the survey report after normalisation of the trains would be sent to the Headquarters.
This proposal would help restrict the arrival of trains catching a lesser number of the passengers on Central as these would divert via Sujatganj from Govindpuri station for Prayagraj railway station.
According to one report, there remains a lot of trains passing from Central on normal days. The problem of stopping the trains on outer will be solved. The development of Govindpuri railway station as Terminal will furthermore help reduce the load. There will be the development of Juhi Yard as station too. Presently, it is used for giving a pass to the Goods trains. It comes into the centre of the Central and Govindpuri stations.
