Jordan, Palestine Call For “Stopping All Israeli Violations”

AMMAN, Nov 17 (NNN-PETRA) – Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, and his Palestinian counterpart, Riyad Al-Malki, yesterday held talks, discussing developments concerning the Palestinian cause.

During the meeting, in the Jordanian capital Amman, the ministers stressed the importance of stopping Israeli violations, which hindered the process of establishing peace, condemning the construction of new settlements in Givat Hamatos and other areas, a statement by the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, said.

The ministers called for serious and effective negotiations, to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, based on the two-state solution, leading to establishing the independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state.

Safadi highlighted Jordan’s efforts in encouraging financial support, provided by international partners, for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The Palestinian official voiced appreciation for Jordan’s support to the Palestinian issue, emphasising Jordan’s key role in protecting the holy sites in Jerusalem.
