Steps to minimise pollution

KANPUR: City reels under intense pollution shock ever since one week. Its air quality index stays at the most unsafe level.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the pollution has almost crossed the redpoint. Side by side, the nitrogen dioxide was also registered at 104.87 per cubic metre on November 3.

The Board’s officer has been directed to conduct an inspection of the factories. Taking the grim situation seriously, the district magistrate told the ARTO to seize trucks emitting the black smoke.

In addition to this, the Kanpur Municipal Corporation health department officials were also instructed to put a control on the garbage burning.

Meanwhile, the water sprinkling was carried out on Ghantaghar crossing and Ramadevi crossing in order to lessen the pollution level in the city areas.
